I have a nice leatherbound version of the Absolute Truth (red-letter edition) right there on the nightstand.

Let he who possesses absolute truth cast the first stone.
Hint: It isn't you, Mr. Pope.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

"I say this because it is my Church." Actually, JESUS said to Peter, "Upon this rock I will build MY Church."

“We Catholics have some—and not some, many—who believe they possess the absolute truth”
A hypocritical criticism, given that it’s his job description.

Huh, whut?
What do you call the Bible - if not "The Absolute Truth"?
We also follow "The Truth" - the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sounds like this fellow just wants everything to be shades of gray, where we all can lock arms and sing choruses of kumbayhya.

No, and since they don’t know anything in the little city they got, maybe they should shut the whole thing down. It seems there’s a presupposition of absolute truth holding that house of cards together.

,"We Catholics have some--and not some, many--who believe they possess the absolute truth and go ahead dirtying the other with calumny, with disorientation, and doing evil. They do evil. I say this because it is my Church."
He added that "ideas and false certainties" can replace faith, love, and God. This certainly can be true. He should name names, if he has the nerve.

The Pope said he was pleased with his trip to Africa where he focused on bringing unity between Christians and Muslims. What unity can Christians have with the followers of a false religion?
What unity can we have with a religion founded by a mass murderer, slave trader and pedophile whose followers worship as a demigod?
We can have no common ground with the followers of this religion because their religion demands that they conquer us, convert, enslave or kill us.

OK, no more ex-cathedra papal bulls, obviously. And the ones in existence need to be dumped.
Sometimes I think Francis is on weed.

"We Catholics have some--and not some, many--who believe they possess the absolute truth and go ahead dirtying the other with calumny, with disorientation, and doing evil. They do evil. I say this because it is my Church."For millenia, at every mass Catholics rise and say these words: "I believe in one, holy, Catholic and apostolic church." Sounds like Francis thinks if you actually believe it when you say it, then you are evil" because this statement says that there is ONE UNIVERSAL (the meaning of "catholic") that has HOLY teachings of truth.
I begin to think Francis isn't Catholic at all.

JUst think how he could bring peace between muslims and Christians if only the Christians would stop their pesky belief in what the Bible and Jesus Christ told us.

Ok, so is it absolutely true that there is no absolute truth?
