The PM is to ask his cabinet to endorse a one-day Commons debate and vote on Wednesday over UK air strikes against so-called Islamic State in Syria.
David Cameron said there was "growing" parliamentary support for air strikes, saying it was "the right thing to do" and in the national interest.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is granting his MPs a free vote on the matter.
He has criticised the decision not to hold a two-day debate, saying Mr Cameron should "stop the rush to war".

So-called Islamic State? So-called????
Cameron’s deeply in debt and militarily impotent government is putting on a pretense of fighting terrorism.
This is a vote for a policy when compared to the French and especially the Russian efforts in Syria right now can be called ‘recreational bombing’.
Defeating terrorism means a World War 2 effort and total conquest of the ME region including Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.
The policy in effect from our leaders and elites is anti-Russia and concerned with containment and appeasement of Russia’s ally Iran much like the Cold War policy towards the Soviets.
This means standing toe to toe with nations that support the terrorist ideology that gives us outfits like ISIS as in the Saudis and Gulf Arabs.
