Cruz Campaign Releases Web Video That Tells the Truth About Ted Cruz's National Security Record
HOUSTON, Texas - Cruz for President today released an online video featuring Oklahoma Congressman Jim Bridenstine (and current Major in the Oklahoma Air National Guard) who shares the truth about Ted Cruz's record of defending America’s national security and points out that Marco Rubio's Gang of Eight bill would have weakened border security and given President Obama authority to expand admission of Syrian refugees.
Congressman Jim Bridenstine: Ted Cruz is ready to be our Commander in Chief (Video)
"I have watched Ted Cruz boldly stand against president Obama's appeasement of those who would threaten our security, from Iran to ISIS to Russia," Congressman Bridenstine says in the video. "Further, I have seen Ted Cruz stand up to both Obama and Marco Rubio, when they joined forces to provide amnesty without border security. The Rubio amnesty bill would have expanded the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program and given Obama authority to admit even more Syrian refugees."
Bridenstine continues, "Ted Cruz will rebuild our military, take the fight to radical Islamic terrorists, and never apologize for America. He will use every tool we have to win, but he will never betray the very Constitution we are sworn to defend."

As a navy pilot, I flew combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan to protect both Americans and our Constitution.
I just watched a despicable ad from one of Marco Rubio's campaign supporters suggesting that Ted Cruz is weak on security.

Oklahoma Congressman Jim Bridenstine (and current Major in the Oklahoma Air National Guard) speaking of Ted Cruz: "...he will never betray the very Constitution we are sworn to defend."I don't hope, I know the above to be true about Ted Cruz.
Obama has set some frightening precedents in extra-Constitutional lawlessness, permitted by an impotent GOP Congress, that must be repudiated completely by the next President.
If the Republic described in the U.S. Constitution is to survive (it's hanging by a thread) only a leader with complete knowledge and commitment to the original blueprints can make that happen. I truly believe 2016 is our last chance.
An autocratic future President driven by ego, while appealing if he shares our views, only serves to reinforce the dangerous precedents set by Obama, thus continuing down our current path further away from the Constitution. If both sides try to make laws by executive order, it will be exploited in truly terrible ways by a Democrat President in the future and the constitutional Republic ceases to exist.
This is why the GOPe is so intent on stopping him, even more so than Trump.
He hit the nail squarely on the head.
I Want The Republic Back!
Like many here, I think BOTH Trump and Cruz are great, although I think Trump is more electable in the general election (i.e., since he can get blue collar votes, which will be more difficult for Cruz) and better has the personal leadership capability to take some steps that many will consider ‘not very pretty’.
On immigration, Cruz appears to have his blemishes, but NEVER FORGET THIS from last year in the US House:
” ‘These (Illegals) could live legally and without fear in the U.S., but only if they were willing to admit their culpability, pass rigorous background checks, pay significant fines and back taxes, develop proficiency in English and American civics, and be able to support themselves and their families (without access to public benefits),’ the (House Republican Immigration Reform Principals) document states.”

This was in January, 2014. The REAL GOAL here was for the House, under CANTOR/Boener, to pass something that could be brought into committee with the RUBIO Amnesty Bill, and then some type of ‘compromise’ be worked out...which likely would have been most of the RUBIO Amnesty Bill.
CRUZ went over to the House, explained the trap to the Republicans there, explained it would lead directly to AMNESTY. The ‘principals’ died BECAUSE OF CRUZ, and ONLY because of Cruz. This was Cruz’s greatest accomplishment, but since it was inside baseball, it never got much visibility.
This set the stage for Trump to run this year, and SEND THE ILLEGALS PACKING - which is why I support Trump, but respect Cruz, tremendously.
The polls haven't indicated that. Trump*s negatives are very high.

"Trump has an inconsistent record when it comes to civil liberties. He supported the NSA mass surveillance program but did not weigh in on the recently passed reforms. Overall, he has avoided commenting on religious freedom, but says he would be an advocate for Christians. Trump supports an individual’s right to make unlimited campaign contributions, but advocates for an end to soft money in politics. Most concerning is Trump’s belief that the government can use eminent domain powers to seize private property for economic benefit for others."
Trump supports the NSA’s metadata collection program, saying, “I support legislation which allows the NSA to hold the bulk metadata. For oversight, I propose that a court, which is available any time on any day, is created to issue individual rulings on when this metadata can be accessed.” This position was identical to the NSA’s mass surveillance program before being reformed by the USA Freedom Act. (Newsweek)
Trump has avoided commenting on religious freedom since Indiana passed its Religious Freedom and Restoration Act into law. Instead, he has said that he will be the “greatest representative of the Christians they've had in a long time” if elected president. (Christian Today) (Breitbart)
Trump believes political soft money should be banned, while individuals should be allowed to make unlimited contributions. "If I were drawing a political cartoon to represent the situation, it would include a very large guy with a huge bag of money. On that bag would be written one word: soft. Soft money is the bane of the current system and we need to get rid of it." (The America We Deserve)
Trump supported the Supreme Court’s 2005 decision in Kelo v. City of New London, giving public authorities the right to seize private land for economic development by private investors. Trump said, “I happen to agree with [the decision] 100 percent.” (National Review)
Trump highlighted his support for prosecuting "hate crimes" against homosexuals in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. “Hate Crime” is a term used to extend special protections for a specific classes and in essence elevates the importance of these classes above others. For example, murder of homosexual or heterosexual should be viewed equally under the law and punished equally. Creating special classes is a liberal tactic used to divide and segment society.(Google Books)
Trump said that Kim Davis should not have been jailed for refusing to issue gay marriage licenses. He also said that she should allow her deputy clerks to do so, but also said that 30 miles away you can get a license so people should do that. He added, "The decision's been made, and that is the law of the land." (CNN)
Much like his stance on eminent domain, Donald Trump has shown a troubling tendency to want to use the power of government to stifle political speech. When the conservative Club for Growth released an advertisement regarding Trump's changing positions on taxation, Trump responded with a legal letter calling for them to cease and desist the advertisements. A chilling move towards the silencing of political speech. (Politico)
Donald Trump attacked SuperPACs (political action committees) in the third Republican debate. By suggesting they should be outlawed he came out against the First Amendment protection of speech, and echoed progressive talking points. (Time)
“The polls haven’t indicated that. Trump*s negatives are very high.”
Don’t forget, the media hasn’t even started on Cruz. By the time they get through, Cruz will not even be recognizable. Trump, on the other hand, is past that stage - and he’s still standing and holding up fairly well.
And don’t forget, McCain and Romney both had low negatives...until the media got through with them.
