In his testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee in September 2014, General Martin Dempsey, then chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, was asked by Senator Lindsay Graham whether he knew of "any major Arab ally that embraces ISIL"?

General Dempsey replied:

"I know major Arab allies who fund them."

In other words, the most senior US military official at the time had confirmed that ISIS was being funded by the very same "major Arab allies" that had just joined the US-led anti-ISIS coalition.

These allies include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait in particular.

[...]

Porous links between some Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels, Islamist militant groups like al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and ISIS, have enabled prolific weapons transfers from ‘moderate’ to Islamist militants.

The consistent transfers of CIA-Gulf-Turkish arms supplies to ISIS have been documented through analysis of weapons serial numbers by the UK-based Conflict Armament Research (CAR), whose database on the illicit weapons trade is funded by the EU and Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

[...]

ISIS, in other words, is state-sponsored?-?indeed, sponsored by purportedly Western-friendly regimes in the Muslim world, who are integral to the anti-ISIS coalition.

Which then begs the question as to why Hollande and other Western leaders expressing their determination to "destroy" ISIS using all means necessary, would prefer to avoid the most significant factor of all: the material infrastructure of ISIS' emergence in the context of ongoing Gulf and Turkish state support for Islamist militancy in the region.

When Obama and Clinton initiated the “Arab Spring”, they were already getting support to rebels, including ISIS.

That support continued while they were funneling arms to rebels out of Libya through Benghazi. The panic and misdirection immediately after the attack on the Ambassador was to try and hide the support of Al Qaeda and ISIS the US was giving.

Obama and Clinton took down the Egyptian and Libyan presidents, and tried to take down Assad. They were trying to replace all 3 of them with Muslim brotherhood linked candidates.

The main stream media will N*E*V*E*R report on this because it reveals the complete hypocrisy of the Democrats.

You are not reading it right...You have the gist of it but NATO is not to blame. It's Islam. They have been exploiting these insurgent groups for decades, millenia. They, Turkey in your example, Syria, Iran, Libya, Saudis, Iraq, and the Russians are using these groups as political fodder. The Russians are very accomplished at it as their country has a large Muslim population.

I mention them because that is what they are doing in Syria.

Iran is doing it in Iraq.

We want them gone, but they don't..They use them as tools. They use each other.

It's all deception.

Erdogan is an Islamist.

He says that “there is no such thing as radical Islam. There is just Islam.”

We all instinctively knew this the moment we saw miles long convoys on the open desert, carefree, celebrating. Well equipped in new clothes, shoes, balaclavas, tactical vests, etc,, and not a single air attack happened.

THAT was the only proof I needed that this was all happening with the complete approval of western and Sunni leaders.

Here’s a thought: Destroy ISIS. Then pull out 100% from the Middle East. Stop choosing sides. Stop the damage we have done. Let the rest destroy each other or make their own peace.

Restrict immigration from those nations to zero. Protect our borders and ports.

Produce our own oil. Pay more for energy. But stop throwing defense money and personnel into the Middle East.

Under the last 3 presidents, we’ve done only harm.

And we are BROKE.

Why did it take Russia to destroy ISIS’s oil tankers when we had been flying over there for a year and a half? I imagine our pilots were asking the same question.

How unthinkable it would have been in the 1980’s to support Russia over a NATO member.
