They can see Cruz has MOMENTUM on his side, and that is how elections are won.
Are the Floridians still split among Trump, Jebbie, and Rubio? Jebbie expects to prevail with winner-take-all.
The GOPe has to know that they won’t win with a rino like Rubio or jebbush. The funding of a phony spoiler like k-sick doesn’t work either.
If we get an anti-GOPe like Cruz or Trump, we will need an anti-GOPe VP to protect the president against assassination.

The thing is, nobody is going to question Cruz’s willingness to get tough militarily, given that he’s a fire-breathing conservative (as opposed to a loony libertarian like Paul).
That he actually would save civil liberties would likely improve Cruz’s electability.
Remember, the press and GOPe destroyed Barry Goldwater in 1964. Even at the convention the Gope was trying to drag governors and Senators—even Nixon to become a candidate. (Nixon said that anyone trying to block Goldwater after he won the primaries would not only hurt Barry, but also the GOP). This hurt all the Repub. candidates.
