Bush invokes fall of Herman Cain to reassure supporters at Longboat Key fundraiser

Jeb Bush cited the rise and fall of 2012 GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain as he sought to reassure supporters at a Longboat Key fundraiser Monday that their faith in him is well placed.

By noting that Cain led in the polls at this point in 2012 only to flame out, Bush implied that current GOP front-runners Donald Trump and Ben Carson could follow the same path.

"We have plenty of time to persuade" was the message said Bradenton state Sen. Bill Galvano. "They're not voting tomorrow."

Apples to Oranges El Yeb!

Cain was an unknown entity. As he became “known” (thanks to muckraking media types and Team Romney slime), he faded.

Yeb, on the other hand, is WELL KNOWN and is going nowhere.

Yeb, you lead in the poles at the beginning.
You have already flamed out, and you aren’t coming back any more than Cain did.

Stupid of you to bring that up.

Herman Cain, the nine-nine-nine guy. The racist left sure did a number on him!

He has like 4% support. Why is anyone even listening to him?

I do not think anyone has ever come back from where Yeb is in the polls to win. Honestly, anyway.

Actually, Cain was not leading at this point (mid to late November). Gingrich and Romney were in the 20s and Cain was in the teens, percentagewise.

Comparing Carson to Cain? Obviously it’s because both their names begin with a “C”.

He is down for the count, floundering around like a helium balloon with no helium in it. He was up, but now he is down, and scribbled up.

Go to your room Yeb, and think about what an arse you are making of yourself.

All due to last-name recognition. It would be an interesting experiment to throw a fictitious but well-known name into a poll. Perhaps Fred Eisenhower.

I'll bet ol' Fred would poll as well as Jeb.

That is why he is back in the Keys. Even in Florida he's hurting.

“I’ll bet ol’ Fred would poll as well as Jeb.”

I’ll bet he’d poll better than Jeb.

The sinking of the Titanic is also a good analogy for Bush.

Bush is rather sure that if Trump and Carson fall, that he (Bush) will instantly go to the head of the class. There’s still a few on the stage, like Cruz, that would take over the lead.

If a miracle happened and Bush did get the nod, then most of Trump and Carsons people would just sit this one out.

Longboat Key is NOT a part of the “Keys”....it’s a little land spit, across a small bridge to Sarasota. :-)
It’s VERY pretty and I wish I knew which house he was at. LOL
