BREAKING: Downed Russian Jet May Spark World War – “This Could Be Catastrophic”
LibertyNews.com ^ | 11/24/2015 | Eric Odom

For some reason mainstream media is slow to catch up on this but we here at LibertyNEWS.com believe this situation could explode into global world war. For those who don’t yet know, a Turkish fighter jet fired a rocket at a Russian warplane, bringing the plane down and killing the pilot (another may be in enemy hands).

Click here for the story on LibertyNEWS.com.

Turkey claims the Russian warplane crossed into Turkey’s airspace, a violation that warranted the extreme action. Make no mistake about it, this could be viewed as an act of war. An act of war committed by both sides of the situation.

What makes the scenario extremely dangerous is that Turkey is a NATO country. And according to Article 5 of the NATO Charter, any NATO nation who is attacked must be defended by all members of NATO.

In essence, if Russia retaliates, the United States and Europe must go to war with Russia.

Here’s the exact language from Article 5.

“The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.”

What Russia’s response will be is unknown. That said, Putin is saying he will not tolerate any attack on Russia’s military.

LibertyNEWS.com’s Jenna Leigh Richardson has been covering the story this morning and said “this could be catastrophic.”

Indeed.

Obama’s fingerprints are all over it. This should really help the Democrats in 2016!

I say it’s time to kick Islamic Turkey outta NATO. And to explicitly support the commie Kurds.

I think the big problem here is NATO. We should NOT support Turkey in any shape or form. I’d rather move to Russia.

Obama put us in a position whereby any initiative on our end could be construed as an affront against Russia. This is what happens when you don’t take the lead

All part of Obama being flexible. He helped cut military spending, which makes it hard to wage a war or two.

So a ISIS supported shots down a plane that is bombing ISIS to get NATA to attack the ISIS attacker. Sure does sound like a back stabbing plan Odumby would use to protect islum.

“such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.”

We are NOT required to go to war on behalf of Turkey. We can deem any lesser action such economic sanctions etc sufficient and let that be it.
It the concept is hard remember how Turkey stabbed us in the back in Iraq, changing the nature of the war and costing US lives.
Or remember when Turkey invaded Cyprus.

No, we are not required to go to war for the caliphate, though Obama would love to.

Turkey flies into Syria every single day to bomb Kurds against the will of the Syrian government. That an act of war also?

I’m having a hard time worrying about Turkey. Is there a way for Russia to nuke it without disturbing Ephesus? They could then continue all the way to the eastern most island in the Indonesian archipelago. Do they have enough?

I would look for Russia to push close to Turkey, to provoke and take down a few of their jets. Bait and attack.
