Putin's aggressive violations are not new, and they're not accidental.

An Israeli Patriot missile shot down a Su-24 in Sept 2014.
Two Turkish F-16 shot down a Su-24 yesterday.

“Just how many incursions into Nato airspace has Russian military made?”
Apparently one too many.

Stimulus-Response Reconnaissance... ~~~~~~~~~~
1) Approach as if to penetrate -- to stimulate a defensive response.
2) Observe and Record all defensive emissions and actions.
3) Go home and analyze the data -- looking for weak spots.
4) Return for another probe -- to determine if the weak spots are really vulnerable.
5) Plan your attack accordingly...

I’m divided on this issue.
On one hand, both the Turks and the Russians are dicks.
On the other hand, Turkey is a NATO member.
However, at least the Russians are siding against ISIS.
As long as NATO doesn’t get involved, I’ll call it a hard lesson learned by the Russians not to invade other countries’ air space.

I see several of those are listed as “approaching” xyz airspace. Approaching doesn’t mean inside.
