meanwhile Cruz jumps 9%.

It's just Cruz's turn to be flavor of the week. So I'm sure he will be "surging" for a bit. The msm and GOPe keep trying to promote someone/anyone over Trump, when it fails they move on to the next one. But you know they are desperate when they are so close to the end of the list they are willing to consider Cruz, they have always hated his ties to the Tea Party. But on the other hand, Cruz has shown himself to be willing to work with the establishment on things like TPA, Iran deal and amnesty.

Trump has basically hit his ceiling in Iowa. They like social conservatives and no one believes Trump is one. If Cruz/Carson split, Trump can still win with a plurality. But just like there was a huge shift in the final days to Santorum last time, all the tea leaves point to the same happening for Cruz. He’s been received with glowing admiration in his appearances there. The voters are getting to the point where they’ve seen all the candidates and the more that happens, the more Cruz will be the one people settle on. The socially conservative leaders in Iowa are not afraid to endorse and they hold huge influence over the caucuses. It’s more and more likely that Cruz wins over almost all those leaders.
