As a Christian nation, we should base our treatment of those who wish to flee Syria on Jesus's command to love others as we love ourselves.
That does not mean that we owe every Syrian welfare for life in the U.S.
The first critical point is to realize that not all "refugees" are equal. Christians, and other religious minorities, who face death on sight are on par with Jews fleeing Nazi Germany and we are obligated to help them.
Similarly women, children, and the elderly or infirm need to be helped.
But Muslim men of military age who have decided that they donât want to risk their lives to solve the problems of their own country have no real claim to anything other than short-term help to avoid being slaughtered. After all, who would have sympathy for Northerners who demanded that England take care of them because they didn't want to fight against slavery in the American Civil War?
If a country has a problem, be it slavery or ISIS, the people who bear responsibility for solving that problem are the people of that country. Other countries should follow, to the extent they can, the example of the Good Samaritan and provide help but that does not mean that we must assume all responsibility for problems caused by Syrians in Syria.
The second critical point is that there's no reason to assume that the Syrian problem will never be fixed; that Syria will never be safe again. While things looked bleak in 1940 the Nazi rule of Europe came crashing down just a few years later.
Obama's desire to permanently resettle the "refugees" is surrender to ISIS in that Obama is saying that Syria will never be safe, that the West will never win the war on terror in Syria.

We’ve already been told the plain, simple truth by the people who know best. The FBI has said we can’t vet them because there is no intelligence to use as a reference point.
In a sane world, THAT should have been the end of the discussion.
Nobody should be allowed in to the U.S. unless they have assets of no less than $500,000, can pay a fee of $50,000 and can prove they are employed. No welfare benefits will ever be provided to them. In the event they receive government assistance 100% of their assets become the property of the U.S. taxpayer.
They VERY FIRST THING that we must do is to assure that the “refugees” are telling us the truth.
Can’t do that??
Fine—tell ‘em to go pound sand—BACK HOME!!
RE: Nobody should be allowed in to the U.S. unless they have assets of no less than $500,000, can pay a fee of $50,000 and can prove they are employed.
ALL those conditions?
Hmmm... that would disqualify someone like Albert Einstein and allow a whol heap of Arabian Sheiks and Chinese Business Cronies to come in.
Obama hs kicked America in the nuts so hard we first need to fix ourselves first or we won’t be able to help others in the future. And so many of the refugees are frauds anyway. It wouldn’t be prudent to help someone trying to game the system and deny the real needy now would it?
But they aren’t refugees.
Virtually no women. Virtually no children.
It’s an invading army and we owe them a strong violent response. Nothing more.
Just think about Europe in 1940. Imagine a million German males “fleeing” Nazi Germany and heading East for “a better life”. The Germans could settle in Smolensk, and Stalingrad, and Leningrad, and Kursk. The men could could just wander into the USSR and settle down in key places. No muss, no fuss.
I bet Hitler would have found that an extremely useful tactic prior to kicking off Operation Barbarossa. Except one thing stood in his way — Stalin wasn’t an idiot.

Would also change the landscaping, construction and other sectors for sure.....
There's much truth in the article. This isn't as difficult as Barry's Regime is trying to make it. A real adult with normal intellectual capacity and good advisers would have easily had a reasonable system already in place, likely even one put on a shelf for just such a situation.

Hey Tom Trinko - the reason Muslims are at war with every other culture in the world is their cultures are failures.
The ideas behind their cultures don’t work, don’t produce prosperity and encourage violence.
Why do any of us owe these people anything? Tom Trinko needs to look at the link.. we can’t make a dent in the needs of people who make an effort - no less those who sit on their butts nursing inferior cultures without bothering to make changes to improve things.
Yeah, at some point you tell your wife’s brother than he can’t sleep on the couch and eat your food if he won’t get up and make an effort to find a job - or at least pick up after himself.
Similarly women, children, and the elderly or infirm need to be helped.

I get so tired of seeing this kind of thinking.
Yes, we as Christians are obligated to help the less fortunate among us. No where in the bible will you find that we are obligated to help through a third party (government)
Ha,,,,Too bad he didn't patent E = MC*2
SAT. Nov.21. 2015......About 1,300 deemed Economic Migrants protest at macedonia-Greece border after Macedonia blocked access to people determined to be economic migrants and not refugees. ....Most of the protesters were from Morocco, but some were also from Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Congo......Macedonian authorities took the decision to exclude migrants from non-war countries earlier this week on the heels of similar action by Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. The excluded migrants have been camping in Idomeni for three days......By early afternoon most protesters had withdrawn from the border and set up tents a short distance away................they have made it quite clear in their chants and outcrys..."WE ARE NOT GOING BACK!"......

The more serious problem we have yet to face is once they have attained refugee status they are free to travel throughout Europe....therefore because we no longer require “Visa” verification from many European countries so they are free to travel here without constraints of Visa Identification.
You can be assured with certainty the Jihadists know exactly what countries they can fly from to here.....

Good points, I guess we add an IQ test:)
That “Freedom of Movement” sign really jumps out.
Apparently borders mean nothing. Anybody can go anywhere at anytime. Countries don’t exist. There are just people moving about.
National sovreignty? [shrug] Who needs it?
Most of the clearly written signs are written by the “activists” among them...also some of the jouranlists supporting them.
Islam does not recognize borders.....never has....and never will...which is why the refugees barge right on thru....they are moving under the direction of their Islamic leaders and Islamic teachings....in their minds Allah is orchestrating this...and the “infidels” are made to provide for them as they go....it is also why they are so demanding....and it’s also “natural” for them as their culture is generally one of demands from bothe sides...leaders and the public.
Meanwhile the Islamic nation Leaders remain on their Jihad Quest to populate the world with Muslims (Stealth Jihad) by immigration and this the Islamification of the World..
The two sides are working together willingly or not...they are doing just that.....
