Last spring, four students published an editorial for the Spectator complaining that a student was triggered by having to read Ovid, and proposed replacing his offensive works with those of Toni Morrison.

Ugh!

Then replace Shakespeare with Tupac.

I think there should be special literature program for these people.

“Dahlgren” and “Neveryon”. But do not allow them to read a thing by Delaney that is pre-1970, because they are just too beautiful for such a philistine.

Do not inform the *students* that Samuel R. Delaney is both bi-racial and bi-sexual until after they grapple with these works. After attempting to read these novels, they will demand Ovid. He’s more accessible.

If I were not a fan of the early Delaney, I’d require they be forced to take at least one seminar led by him. I wouldn’t force these people on any author. I do think he would straighten them out in a hurry.
