Today has been another busy news day for all of us. Another great job by the FReepers keeping us all up to date by posting the articles and by those FReepers making comments on the threads to keep us all even better informed.

Please don't forget that the FReepathon fundraiser is still in progress even though it may get buried in Breaking News from time to time due to the important events of the day. Also please do not forget that without FR we would be searching high and low, spending a lot of time just trying to find those articles elsewhere and without the insightful comments by fellow FReepers.

Where would we be without our great Free Republic?

Please click the secure server link above or donate by mail to: Free Republic - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794

Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up. And we have 48 new monthlies so far this quarter.

Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. And we have received 153 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.

Please get your donations in today so we can wrap this baby up before Thanksgiving.

Thank you all very much!!

God bless.

Thanksgiving

Making new family traditions

Giving Thanks
We heard about the Thankful Tree - a fun craft to showcase what everyone is thankful for, and one that doubles as a Thanksgiving craft and decoration! Here's how to make one: cut out individual leaves from paper, and have each person write what they are thankful for on a leaf. Attach the leaves to a small tree branch, a paper cutout of a tree, or to the wall in the shape of a tree. One family saves the leaves from year to year to spark another Thanksgiving activity: reminiscing about Thanksgivings past.

Other ways of showing thanks were attending church to show thankfulness to God and to work with others to give back to the community. And, of course, going around the dinner table taking turns expressing what each person in thankful for.

"Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is
Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon
which Freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free
Constitution is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our
People in a greater Measure than they have it now,

They may change their Rulers and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a
lasting Liberty. They will only exchange Tyrants and Tyrannies."

We Thank Thee

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

Looking good!.....My family is having a family re-union this year, so we’re all excited to have a BIG Thanksgiving as did when we were kids when the entire family converged at my mom’s.

She’s gone now and family is spread out all over......so this is a real effort for all to be there! A three day event no less!

"As to the history of the revolution, my ideas may be peculiar, perhaps singular. What do we mean by the Revolution? The war? That was no part of the revolution; it was only an effect and consequence of it.

The revolution was in the minds of the people, and this was effected from 1760 to 1775, in the course of fifteen years, before a drop of blood was shed at Lexington."

Ya’ll - We CANNOT afford to lose Free Republic! - My donation this time was fairly small; but if everyone who
comes to FR does their part, how ever small they might
think that part is; we can keep Free Republic going
strong. - If DU were the only game in town, I shudder to
think what that would mean! There’s nothing that would
please Hussein & the Heifer more than for FR to fizzle &
pleasing them - the very idea makes me puke!
