I see you have a busy day ahead.
What hot spots are you hitting on your holiday travels? When are you leaving?

Hi Kathy
Didn’t see your post till this morning. I know how you feel about your knee. I tore my ACL playing basketball back in 1981. I went from having a 38” vertical jump to not being able to jump over two sheets of typing paper. Never had it repaired; back then they couldn’t repair ligaments with arthroscopic surgery, they had to lay open the whole knee. It would have taken six months out of my life and I didn’t have six months to give at the time. Also, the surgeon said “We only do that surgery for athletes and you’re not an athlete.” Thanks for the encouragement, doc. Maybe I’ve shared this before; I don’t know. Old age makes you forget who you’ve bored with your repeated stories.
Anyway he just shoved a piece of damaged cartilage between the bones and that is what’s kept me from having knee replacement surgery for 30+ years. I’m still active (I played basketball and hockey up until about five years ago) but if I do anything, I have to wear a knee brace.
I know the replacement surgery will happen some day. I’m putting it off as long as possible. If you have to go through it, I will feel your pain because I’ll be there some day.
As for Thanksgiving, my 91 year old mom wants to host again, so we’re going over there. She only lives about 10 minutes away. I’ll go over there on Wednesday afternoon to clean and set up the table and what not. There will be about 10 of us there, so it won’t be a big crowd. We are all bringing in dinner so mom doesn’t have to cook. The only rule is to have dinner done before the Cowboys game is on, and then relax with a few glasses of adult spirits.
I'll be going back and forth there several times this winter.
They are coming here...I have an ailing kitty and can’t leave her...I won’t be cooking.
I leave that to family.
oh dear, sorry about the sick kitty.
I usually leave the cooking to others, too :)
I do prepare a smaller feast for hubby and I, afterwards.
