Americans with common sense celebrated the success of a recent Houston referendum repealing an ordinance that would, among other things, have forced private-property owners to permit an individual to use the restroom of his choice rather than the one assigned to his genetically determined sex. But those celebrants might want to put the corks back in their champagne bottles for the time being: A bill currently in Congress and endorsed by President Barack Obama could impose that same policy on the entire country

The bill also expressly prohibits people from claiming exemption from its provisions under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993. "Thus," FRC wrote in an Issue Brief, "the Act would force people to affirm homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and transgenderism, despite their religious objections in various situations, including the provision of public accommodations."
They could have passed this in 2009 and 2010.
Three men rape a woman in a bathroom. All three men deny it. They all go free. Does that sound like Sharia law to you?
I think it’s great. Can you imagine the angry voters at the polls next year?
Just start pointing them to the coffee can in the back of the building and close down all restrooms.
Need a scorecard to tell the foes. FYI: article errs in designating Sen Merkley as a 'R', he is of course a 'D' from Oregon!
We know how the dance goes.
It fails in the states and at the ballot box.
It fails to get through Congress.
Anthony Kennedy gets out of bed one morning, decides it’s a swell idea, and it becomes the Law of the Land.
Angry women voters for sure. They’re the ones who will be burdened by this.
Note that the only race and sex-related rights that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect, thus giving Congress the 14th Amendment (14A) power to strengthen such rights, deal with voting rights as evidenced by the 15th and 19th Amendments. So the corrupt feds actually have no constitutional authority to address race or sex related issues outside the scope of voting rights imo.
Regarding PC, pro-gay perversions of the 14As equal protections clause by lawless Obamas activist justices, 14A does not prohibit discrimination on the basis of any criteria that the states have never amended the constitution to expressly protect.
In fact, the congressional record shows that John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of 14A where the equal protections clause is found, had clarified the following about 14A. It applies only those protections that the states have amended the constitution to expressly protect to the states, no such protections for race and sex-related issues outside the scope of voting rights as previously mentioned.
Mr. Speaker, this House may safely follow the example of the makers of the Constitution and the builders of the Republic, by passing laws for enforcing all the privileges and immunities of the United States as guaranteed by the amended Constitution and expressly enumerated in the Constitution [emphasis added]. -John Bingham, Congressional Globe, House of Representatives, 42nd Congress, 1st Session. (See lower half of third column.)
Patriots need to support Trumps vision for the USA by electing him and giving him a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to allow Trump to accomplish his vision.
An added bonus to such a Congress is that it will probably be willing to use its constitutional authority to fire activist, Constitution-ignoring justices to do so.
Clear out a broom closet. throw in a 10 gallon plastic bucket and a case of toilet paper. Label the door for transgender only. If you want the Alaska deluxe model, then epoxy a Home Depot toilet seat to the top of the bucket. Hose it down every other week or as needed.
I wonder if they have a transgendered bathroom allowing confused freaks in at Sasha or Malia’s schools.

This is going to be a major expense to restaurants, bars, etc.
It will be really expensive to replace showering areas with showering booths. Heaven help gyms that don't support the progressive agenda.
The answer is call all the stores you presently shop at and tell them that since Zero and the Congressional kooks plan to make us share the same bathrooms and due to having a weak bladder and not wanting to hear noises from female patrons I will have to pass on shopping at your big box store anymore.
I didn’t mean big box the way you took it. Maybe.
I wonder why the Demonicrats didn’t push this putrid homoFascism law when they had all of Congress and the Presidency in 2009-2011.
