As he did with his tax reform proposal and his border security and immigration plans Senator Ted Cruz has introduced a plan that actually solves a problem country class Americans want solved - in this case stopping jihadi terrorists from infiltrating America as Syrian "refugees."
Yesterday, Senator Cruz introduced the Terrorist Refugee Infiltration Prevention Act of 2015, which will immediately bar refugees to the United States from any country, such as Iraq or Syria that contains territory substantially controlled by a foreign terrorist organization. The bill sunsets after three years so that Congress can reevaluate the global situation and either let the bill expire or reauthorize it with necessary modifications in light of changed circumstances.
Upon introduction of the bill, Sen. Cruz stated, "After watching the horrific scenes play out in Paris, we have to take basic steps to protect ourselves from the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism. This legislation will do just that."
"As the American people are now painfully aware, ISIS has emerged as the new face of the radical terror that has bedeviled the West in recent decades. Unlike some regional jihadists, ISIS represents a direct and growing threat to our citizens, and increasingly to our homeland itself. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration has clearly lacked focus on national security interests. I believe we must do everything we can to prevent even a very few jihadis from slipping into our nation and urge my colleagues to join me in this effort to protect the American people."

Here are the key points of the Cruz bill:
The Terrorist Refugee Infiltration Prevention Act of 2015 immediately bars any refugee who is "a national of, has habitually resided in, or is claiming refugee status due to events in" any country that contains territory controlled in substantial part by a Foreign Terrorist Organization, as designated by the State Department. The bill specifically names Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen, and the State Department is empowered to identify and designate additional countries.
The bill sunsets after three years so that Congress can reevaluate the global situation and either let the bill expire or reauthorize it with necessary modifications in light of changed circumstances.
The bill includes one narrow exception to this ban: A refugee from one of the identified high-risk countries can be admitted, but only if the prospective refugee proves "clearly and beyond doubt" that he or she satisfies the requirements for refugee status and is a member of a group that has been designated as a victim of genocide by the State Department or by Act of Congress. This exception is for the severest cases of persecution, and a refugee who cannot prove membership in the group cannot be admitted. Also, the Secretary of State may refuse to designate a group for this exception if the Secretary finds that the group may pose a substantial security threat to the United States.
Editor's Note: This provision would allow for the entry of Iraqi and Syrian Christians, Jews, Yazidis and other persecuted religious and ethnic minorities, provided such individuals can prove "clearly and beyond doubt" that they qualify, the burden of proof being on the prospective refugee.
Even then, a refugee who qualifies for this narrow exception can only be admitted if he or she has undergone the highest available level of security screening, including assessments by the FBI Terrorist Screening Center and the National Counterterrorism Center; the refugee has been subjected to full multi-modal biometrics; and perhaps most importantly, the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Homeland Security, Director of the FBI, and Director of National Intelligence all certify that the refugee is not a national security threat.
The bill also mandates that the Secretary of Homeland Security may not admit any refugee based solely on the assertions of the refugee. DHS cannot simply take the refugee's word for it. Instead, the bill requires DHS to coordinate with the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Director of National Intelligence to ensure that the refugee's story is corroborated.
We contrast this comprehensive proposal by Senator Cruz to address the Syrian refugee jihadi infiltration menace with the SAFE Act of 2015, the "show vote" being readied for a vote by Speaker Paul Ryan and the House Republicans.
The SAFE Act of 2015 is only protecting vulnerable Republican incumbents who are facing conservative primary challengers, like incumbent Martha Roby in Alabama-2 , who is being challenged by Becky Gerritson, like incumbent Renee Ellmers in NC-2 who is being challenged by Frank Roche and Jim Duncan, and like incumbent Pete Sessions in TX-32 who is being challenged by Russell Ramsland.
The SAFE Act of 2015 will not stop one jihadi posing as a Syrian "refugee" from entering the United States, but it will make Capitol Hill's Republican establishment look like they are doing something, when in fact they are complicit in Obama's dangerous plans because they keep funding them.

Trump's Record on Free-market Issue: (from the Conservative Review)
Trump has a terrible record on free market issues. The only bright spot is the Federal Reserve's quantitative easing, but this glimmer is countermanded by his repeated support for bailing out Wall Street and the auto industry, and increased stimulus spending. This comes as no surprise, given his support for using eminent domain to profit his own company.

Trump supported TARP, saying, "You had to do something to shore up the banks, because ... you would have had a run on every bank." (CNN)
Trump supported the 2008 auto bailout, saying, “I think the government should stand behind them 100 percent. You cannot lose the auto companies. They’re great. They make wonderful products.” He also said that the federal government could “easily save the companies.” (Daily Caller)

Multiple times Trump has supported the use of government agencies to take possession of homes and businesses for use in his private business plans. Eminent domain seizures are reserved only for public use of property rather than abuse by the government taking property from one individual and giving to another. (Washington Post)
Donald Trump has sought and received crony capitalist tax breaks for his commercial properties in New York. These tax breaks, and even an abatement, force the property taxes of other property owners to rise at the expense of the connected. Special treatment for one business or industry over another with the tax code conflicts with free market principles. (National Review)

Noting that lawless Obama would probably be trying to stop terrorists unilaterally from Congress anyway if it served his Muslim agenda, please consider the following.
To be blunt, since patriots have had three election cycles to exercise their 17th Amendment power to elect the 2/3 Senate supermajority required to overturn a presidential veto but have falied to do so, a 2/3 vote of the House also required, is there any hope for Cruzs terrorist bill with respect to a predictable lawless Obama veto?
I hope that Obama proves me wrong and signs the bill into law if it ever gets to his desk.
With all due respect to Sen. Cruz, his action seems like a pre-election year stunt intended to win the approval of low-information patriots.

Now he wants to play god and pick and choose who gets religious liberty, who doesn't AND from where.
