In other words, eugenics is a public policy bolstered by a despotic political ideology. Personal spousal choice is not eugenics.
Yes, I understand that, but it doesn’t invalidate the basis underlying eugenics, i.e. that intelligence is largely inherited.
You do concur with that, right?
I assume that intelligence, a product of physiological function (i.e. brain activity) is largely inherited. The extent to which is is developed and exercised depends on many other factors. Sort of epi-epigenetics.
Um... I must have missed it ... what’s that “illusion” you were speaking of?
While I was reading the article it struck me that if you replaced the word “eugenics” with “climate change” the article would read about the same. I am not downplaying the horror of eugenics, just noticing the same corruption of the “scientific community”
The more things change the more they stay the same.
One of my son’s best friends is a genius. The rest of his family are “special” in varying degrees. Parents own the home and all are law abiding citizens. Can’t say that for the current administration, most of the government including the department of justice, and those who teach anarchy in the higher education institutions.
Always an end game that doesn’t bode well for the supposed lower class folks.
I agree - the extent to which native intelligence is developed definitely depends on the environment.
And the type of environment (culture) also depends on the intelligence of the people that make up that culture.
One feeds on the other. And culture itself is a source of “natural selection” to some extent, in that who we choose to marry will more likely reflect the values that lead to success in a particular culture.
Your comment seem to indicate that humans couldn’t be bred. I understand your reluctance of wanting that to happen (me too), but it’s definitely doable.
Sorry, didn’t mean to imply that.
WHERE do you think Hitler got the idea from? Yep.
Margaret Sanger.
We earned the right to moan about the Welfare Queens. We PAY for them. So there.
I moan about them, too, and not just about the fact that we pay for them, but that they’re breeding faster than we are.
