UT, like many other “conservative” states, has liberals poised to crawl out from under their rocks to take power! Beware too of Orrin Grant Hatch!

SLC is much more liberal than the rest of Utah, just as SF &LA are much more liberal than the rest of California, and Seattle is much more liberal than the rest of Washington state.

Guess I learned something. I always assumed SLC was a conservative Mormon enclave. Is there a major city that hasn't been taken over by the left?

This thread is worthless without pictures.

Well there's a couple pics at the link.. I'm thinking Heath Ledger as the Joker, in a gray suit, with small boobs.

Huh?

If there would be "pillar of salt treatment" there, far richer deposits (of salt) would be found elsewhere, all over the U.S.

Curse Mormons for this (who more generally oppose homosexuality as being unnatural) is to curse the entire nation.

Be careful what's asked for, we just might get it.

And no, I'm not a Mormon.

***I thought Mormons were moral people***

A review of fluid nature of Mormon doctrine is in order.

When Utah wanted statehood they had to first do away with plural marriage. All of a sudden the prophet announced that monogamy is the cool new Mormon thing.

Until the late 1970s blacks were not allowed full participation in the Mormon church. Blacks were considered cursed. A lot of outside pressure was brought to bear on the Mormons and guess what happened? A revelation was received teaching that blacks weren’t so bad after all and a change in doctrine occurred.

I’ll bet you within 10 years gays will be openly welcome in the LDS.

Wow. Salt Lake City?
My father used to travel there on business in the
70’s and he couldn’t even get a beer.

I remember that. The leader of the church (Spencer W. Kimball I think his name was) took to the microphones one day and announced that blacks were now NOT cursed. All Mormons appeared to just go along with that. I found that fascinating. If the Pope suddenly announced one day that the Immaculate Conception was wrong there would be a huge hue and cry amongst Catholics.

Maybe among hardcore FRoman Catholics. But I think most American Catholics would just shrug their shoulders and salute Rome.

It’s the effect (or “affect” for the writer of the article) that Hollywood and liberals in pop music (or things called music which aren’t really music) are having on the American culture.
