Well, some of them might have the skills needed to kill off some of the “surplus population” a few score or a few hundred at a time.

I’m probably wrong, but didn’t Ithaca, or one of the nearby cities, have a large Ukrainian population at one time? If so, I do not recall any trouble from them. Gee, what could be different about them and the Syrians... Hmmm.... Let’s see, what could it be...
