How do the consequences of Cruz's and Trump's illegal immigration plans differ?

Thank you! That is the key point many Trump supporters don’t seem to get around here. Trump has said repeatedly that while he wants to build a “magnificent wall” along the border, he also wants to put “a big door” in it to “let the good ones back in”.

So at best (for Trump) his position and Cruz’s position are the same. There can be no arguing this point, at least from a reasonable standpoint, so the Trump gang around here needs to knock it off with this “Trump is better on immigration than Cruz” meme that’s constantly repeated.

I would actually dare to say that with Cruz, he indeed has said that “all options are on the table” so to me, that sounds like he is willing to consider a deportation plan that would actually keep those deported out. This is UNlike Trump, who again says he wants to bring the “good ones back in”. In other words with Trump we KNOW we are getting some kind of “amnesty”, with Cruz there’s actually a possibility, however small, we might not.

In all likelihood though as far as Cruz goes, there probably would be some kind of amnesty, but this is again what must be realized in contrast to Trump. Trump is no better in that regard so pragmatically speaking “no amnesty” is a pipe dream. It’s time to let that go, and quit (falsely) trumpeting “The Donald” with that point. It’s intellectual dishonesty (or worse) to say he’s not for the same concept.

Now before I get a whole gaggle of Trump harpies flaming me to death let me also say this: I have no problem voting for Trump over any other candidate both in the primary and the general, except Cruz! Right NOW, conservatives should be supporting Cruz! It’s not “compromising” to support Cruz, it’s actually “comromising” to support Trump at this stage of the race! It’s time people (on FR at least) wake up to this fact and stop letting themselves be seduced by the glamor of Trump’s campaign. I’ll be happy to settle for him later if it comes to that but there’s no reason to do that now.
