Here’s the latest we have on all the suspects whom authorities have linked to Friday’s attackers in Paris.

The Bataclan attackers
1. Omar Ismail Mostefai, 29, was the first suicide attacker named by French authorities, identified by prints taken from a severed finger.

A Turkish official has told the Guardian that French authorities were tipped off twice about Mostefai by Turkey, but only received an information request about him after the Paris attacks.

2. Samy Amimour, 28, the second suicide bomber at to be named from the Bataclan theatre, was born in Drancy, a north-eastern suburb of Paris.

He was known to French authorities before the attack. Prosecutors say three people in Amimour’s family have been in custody since early Monday.

Stade de France attackers
3. Ahmed Almohamed, 25, a Syrian passportholder said to have travelled via Greece and Serbia, was named as a suicide bomber outside the France vs Germany match. He was born in Idlib, Syria, according to the passport, which matched the bomber’s fingerprints, French police said.

4. Bilal Hadfi was named by both Belgian media and the Washington Post as the other attacker at the stadium, believed to have fought in Syria over the past year.

Boulevard Voltaire attacker
5. Ibrahim or Brahim Abdeslam, 31, carried out the suicide attack at the Comptoir Voltaire cafe, according to French prosecutors, was a French national based in Belgium.

Suspect on the run
5. Salah Abdeslam 26, the subject of a wanted notice by French police. He is suspected to have rented a car used by the group who attacked the Bataclan and is the brother of Ibrahim.

The ‘mastermind’
Belgian extremist Abdelhamid Abaaoud has been named by French officials as the mastermind of the suicide bombings and shootings in Paris. He is understood to be in Syria.

The militant, also known as Abu Umar Al-Baljiki, has appeared in Islamic State propaganda.

The team behind this attack (or series of attacks) were Islamist immigrants living in France, Belgium, and Germany as well as some who’d traveled from Syria.

Europe is already infested with a malignant subculture, they are just importing more.

And the terrorists proclaimed at the concert that the attacks were motivated by Frances attacks on Syria so yes, Syria is at the root of this matter but if it wasn’t that, they’d find some other excuse. Just as Nick Berg was not kidnapped and beheaded because of Abu Ghraib, he’d already been held hostage for a month and another captive had famously escaped that week. He was a liability and Abu Ghraib gave them a window to proclaim moral equivalence to the liberal Left.

There was also a man apprehended in Germany on his way to Paris (car’s navigation system was programmed). He’d be caught when a gun was discovered in his glove box and the barrel of a much larger firearm sealed in the engine was noticed poking out of the glove box. He had numerous firearms and grenades.

They said he is unwilling to talk. I say waterboard him.

The Islamic State group has released what appears to be a new propaganda video, warning of an attack in Washington.

The video begins with some news footage from Friday's attacks in Paris, and warns of an attack on the US capital.

In the film, a fighter says any country participating in air strikes would also be targeted in a similar manner as France.

It was released via a website typically used by the group to distribute its films, but its authenticity has not been verified.

French fighter jets launched their biggest raids in Syria to date on Sunday, targeting Raqqa, the Islamic State's de-facto capital.

A fighter who addresses the camera also appears to reference the Syria peace talks in Vienna, saying:"we have decided to negotiate with you in the trenches and not in the hotels.";

look forward to the next installment.

Part Two: Spies Like ISIS

How ISIS Picks Its Suicide Bombers
They come from Russia, France, even New Jersey to end their lives for an Islamic State. But an ISIS defector reveals that Saddam's old spies are the ones holding all the triggers.

The ISIS leadership, after all, is mainly Iraqi, and if there is a political, as opposed to religious, objective underlying all its activity, it is the restoration of Sunni power in Baghdad.

All fighters from the Caucasus or former Soviet republics tend to be referred to by the catch-all word Chechens. And while Abu Omar al-Shishani, an ethnic Chechen from Georgia, is one of the most recognized (and overhyped) battlefield commanders in ISIS, Chechens are running their own outfits with very little supervision or command-and-control from Raqqa.

The entire apparatus was honeycombed with semi-autonomous fiefs, often tasked with keeping track of what the others were up to. A general intelligence department reported to the security emir for a region who was in charge of deputy emirs for individual districts. A head of secret spy cells and an intelligence service and information manager for the district reported to each of these deputy emirs. The spy cells at the local level reported to the district emir's deputy. The goal was to have everyone keeping an eye on everyone else.

This naturally puts one in mind of the KGB or Stasi hardly a coincidence given that many of the top-ranking ISIS officials are former members of Saddam Hussein's mukhabarat and therefore past pupils of Warsaw Pact security organs. In fact, the man who constructed the ISIS franchise in Syria, the now-deceased Haji Bakr, had once been a colonel in Saddam's Air Defense Intelligence Service

Part Three: Ministries of Fear

by Michael Weiss
Inside ISIS's Torture Brigades
Talking to girls. Fibbing in court. Drinking a beer. A thousand things will get you tortured in the Islamic State. Unless you're a suspected CIA spy. Then you lose your head.
For all the attention paid to ISIS, relatively little is known about its inner workings. But a man claiming to be a member of the so-called Islamic State's security services has stepped forward to provide that inside view. This series is based on days of interviews with this ISIS spy.

ISIS is absolutely paranoid about infiltration, and its wild dragnets for capturing fifth columnists and foreign agents seem premised on preemption rather than exposure. Fear must be maintained to keep people from so much as thinking of resistance. And in the frenzy, inevitably, ISIS devours some of its own. “One time they beheaded a Kuwaiti guy they said was working for MI6. They wrote on his body that he was a British spy - and he was the chief of the amniyat in al-Bab.”

The ISIS defector argues that the paranoia is well-founded. ISIS, he believes, is absolutely run through with spies and informants of all persuasions.

But ISIS cannot rely entirely on fear to rule, and it has to bring in new recruits all the time, so indoctrination is a major part of its program. It accepts volunteers from the hated Free Syrian Army, from various Islamist militias, or Jabhat al-Nusra, the al Qaeda franchise in Syria from which ISIS broke away in 2014. But it makes the barrier for entry very high and limits their choices of assignment. Someone joining after having served in a rival group has to attend a Maoist-like re-education camp for three months and “repent.” And there are lifelong limitations on what you can do from then on, and where you can go.

And because the caliphate wants to create future generations of willing executioners, it is very careful about educating the young, as well.

Former teachers in Syria have been invited back to teach students in ISIS-held cities, but they have to take classes for three months and repent for having worked with the regime. Home schooling is haram because the curriculum can’t be controlled.

This is a welfare state.

For all its means of self-enrichment, ISIS hasn't forgotten about the little guy. It has constructed a social safety net for those it rules in its Islamic welfare state, a linchpin of which is Baghdadi’s own Affordable Care Act.

“This is why a lot of people are joining,” said Abu Khaled. “I knew a mason who worked construction. He used to get 1,000 lira per day. That's nothing. Now he's joined ISIS and gets 35,000 lira - $100 for himself, $50 for his wife, $35 for his kids. He makes $600 to $700 per month. He gave up masonry. He's just a fighter now, but he joined for the income.”

ISIS charges whatever rates it chooses for the scarce electricity. “And you have to pay for the water. You have to pay for the city. For the cleaning, the garbage. Plus, when you bring any stuff from outside the Islamic State, you have to pay taxes. Vegetables or fruit - anything from Turkey or FSA areas, you have to pay taxes.” ISIS also levies fines for all manner of civil infractions, especially cigarette smoking or smuggling.

ISIS also, famously, sells Assad's oil back to him. “In Aleppo, people have electricity for maybe three or four hours per day. The electricity station is in Asfireh, ISIS-controlled territory, near Kweris airport. So the regime pays for the fuel to run the station. It pays the salaries for the workers because they're specialized and can't be replaced. And ISIS takes 52 percent of the electricity and the regime takes 48 percent. That's the deal they have with Assad.”

Part Four: Escaping the Islamic State

by Michael Weiss

How I Escaped From ISIS

Motorcycles and minibuses, fake IDs and frantic calls. This is how a former spy and battlefield commander leaves the Islamic State.

Abu Khaled illustrated just how incompetent he found the ISIS infantry. He used silverware. “Here's Kobani,” he said, putting a fork on the caf© table. “Here's open land, five kilometers of it until the first ISIS position” - a spoon. “When we sent the fighters to Kobani, we sent them one by one. Walking. The logistics for them- weapons, food - came on a bike. Most of the time, the bike couldn't make it. It'd get hit by an airstrike. So the ones who made it, they entered houses.”

They were instructed to stay inside the house and not do anything. They remained for a day or two. Then, inevitably, one of them stuck his head out a window. Abu Khaled banged the table. “And then the house would get bombed and they'd all get killed!” He let out a mirthless laugh. “People started to think there was an ISIS conspiracy to kill everybody.”

“I don't know the relationship between ISIS and Turkey,” Abu Khaled said. “During the Kobani war, shipments of weapons arrived to ISIS from Turkey. Until now, the gravely wounded go to Turkey, shave their beards, cut their hair, and go to the hospital. Somebody showed me pictures in Kobani. You see ISIS guys eating McDonald's french fries and hamburgers. Where did they get it? In Turkey.”
