Michigan Governor: Snyder halts Syrian refugee efforts following Paris attacks

Following Friday's deadly terrorist attacks in Paris linked to ISIS, Gov. Rick Snyder said he's made the decision to suspend efforts to bring Syrian refugees to Michigan.

While acknowledging the state's "rich history of immigration" Snyder said the first priority needs to be protecting the safety of the state’s residents.

"Given the terrible situation in Paris, I've directed that we put on hold our efforts to accept new refugees until the U.S. Department of Homeland Security completes a full review of security clearances and procedures," Snyder said in a statement released to media Sunday.

Yeah, I want to know the answer to that too. I heard Jindal wrote a letter to Obama asking questions about the refugees coming to his state, but that’s all he did!

And things will be no more safe after Obama's DHS completes any review it might do. These background checks on refugees are as much a farce as the charade of fully vetting all those good Syrian rebels and establishing a fighting force.

How will they ever vet these refugees? Call the Sheriff of Damascus county and ask for background checks? And these people are overwhelmingly economic migrants and Trojan Horse Moslem invaders. We should help provide for them in Syria and neighboring countries, but not bring them here.
