You all seemed to have missed the point.

Sure, given the exact situation in Paris where the terrorists shot a bunch of people, then set off a suicide bomb (assuming that the one’s doing the shooting were the one’s with the suicide vests), a gun would have helped.

Normally, they don’t do it that way. In cases where they don’t , a gun would not help.

What I was trying to point out is that letting the enemy set up camp in your house is where the problem starts, and where it should be eliminated.

People in Paris, and people here should not have to walk around worrying about someone blowing them up.

Thanks! I do realize that this mentality has to kick into gear almost immediately for many situations like this, but if one or two men charged the shooters, I think others would be motivated to do so as well.
