There is no excuse. This was a shameful episode. A precursor of the evil that has transpired since then.
And just how did Trump step in it? Have you watched his speech? It was incredible, nothing whatsoever to apologize. It also put Trump back in the news and gave Carson a knockout punch-he is either pathological (Carson’s own words) or a liar.

So causing her death by dehydration was keeping her comfortable?

Yeah well I’m a nurse who has seen these decisions made too. This situation was a case of active euthanasia aka murder of a woman who was not dying. Period.
If Carson doesn’t have the facts of this case then he should shut his mouth. And shame on him for not knowing. This was a landmark case that set a huge precedent.

I have defended Carson, but no more. F*ck him.
The decisions may be common but referring to someone's life as 'nothing' is a horrible thing to say.
He was asked the question. Whether they're common or not, Dr. Carson had the opportunity to condemn this practice. And as I said in my previous post, if he were as religious as he pretends, he would've brought up the power of prayer.
Do we seriously want a President who defends the status quo when it's wrong? ca't he be mad as hell about the treatment of Terri Schiavo, enabled by Jeb?
Why are you defending Dr. Carson? Trying to keep an opening for Jeb to move by Trump not clinching the nomination? Maybe that's why Dr. Carson is in there, to provide cover for Jeb.....sure is beginning to look that way.

Creepy and disturbing is an excellent way to describe him. He is so in love with the way his supporters view him that he will never leave that comfortable little corner. Blinking, sleepy eyed, drawn speech is what we would get no matter the urgency of the situation.
I hated that no one would step up for Terri. Her death was a national shame.

This is not what happened to terri . Her family wanted to take care of her . They were able to communicate . Her husband wanted to remarry and collect the insurance . The government sided with the husband . She was was starved and deprived of water . It was a horrible slow death .
We were told it was euphoric . Since then I have advocated we use this euphoric method on our death sentence criminals . Cheap , effective.
No way can we vote for him now.
And to think, there were people who got mad at me when I referred to him as “Baby-killin’ Ben.”

This is extremely disappointing, if true.
When Yeb turned over to the FL judicial branch the authority to force Terri’s family and medical staff to let her die, I said, “Some day you’re going to run for president, Jeb. I will never support you. If you are the GOP candidate, I will vote third party.”
Why? Because he abdicated his executive power to the judiciary to let Terri die to disentangle himself from a potentially sticky political issue.
I sure hope Carson didn’t say this.
