birth control pills for just under $3, billed Medicaid $35 for the same package of pills, and got reimbursed for $26.

MEDICAID has a set fee. They could have paid $50 for the pills and billed $600. They would have been paid $26, PERIOD.

There can only be fraud here if they upcoded; provided a lesser item, but billed for a more expensive item. That is the most commons type of fraud to MEDICAID and MEDICARE.

It is the low fees for MEDICAID services that have made many providers to stop participating in the program. I'm in DME, (durable medical equipment) some the devices physicians order and patients rightfully need are reimbursed at less than cost. MEDICAID sucks for all involved.

Planned Parenthood of the Gulf Coast paid $4.3 million to resolve civil allegations under the False Claims Act, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. That settlement resolved a lawsuit filed by Karen Reynolds, a former medical assistant for a Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast clinic in Lufkin, Texas.

In a statement, the Justice Department said: The government alleges that between 2003 and 2009, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast billed and was paid by government programs, Texas Medicaid, Title XX, and the Womens Health Program, for certain items and services related to birth control counseling, STD testing and contraceptives when such items and services were either not medically necessary, not medically indicated or not actually provided.

Thanks for posting. The eugenicists are ripping us off and ripping apart babies and selling the parts for profit, and the most evil government in the history of this republic allows it to continue.

DEFUND eugenicist collectives. DEPOPULATE/RIP their enablers from the body politic.

Crimes have been committed. How strange that no one is going to prison as a result.

We need to get much tougher. The idea that taxpayers can be defrauded by millions of dollars and there is no one being locked up is a tragedy.
