The bible says the penalty for a lie is equal to the damage the lie intended to inflict. Our Godless legal system has turned it's back on this doctrine and the liars who are destroying everything are never held accountable.
There’s already such a revised edition out there, replaces “N*gger Jim” with “Slave Jim.”
Completely undermines the point Twain was trying to make, in showing the human center of the story repeatedly being subjected to dehumanization.
This is just an academic variation on “Going Galt”
Which is a completely legitimate tactic.
Although I have to wonder what would happen if the professor were to go on a hunger strike. Just like that affluent permanent student did.
I surmise that he was ordered to cancel the exam by the school, and added his resignation because the “powers that be” had capitulated on his behalf.
I have no direct evidence of this, but the sequence carries all of the hallmarks of such garbage.
If he was ordered to capitulate by the school administration, then resigning is the only option for him to keep his self-respect (and I do not mean self esteem).
