Trump will bring it up anyway. Count on it.

Insiders and the movers in DC are all-in for increased immigration because it is necessary to save the failing Social Security model. Here's a link to a page at SSA which depicts why the system cannot last. The US has murdered over 40 million former, future taxpayers through abortion. Those people nevertheless have to be replaced to pay into the Ponzi system.

The insiders and the movers are trying to stave off the implosion until it's on somebody else's watch.

Yup. The title should read “....except Trump who is not beholden to any donors”. He’s already talked about reducing legal immigration until they have assimilated and Americans have jobs.

Trump would do well to stick to his position paper on immigration. He has been going wobbly lately. His high walls and wide gates is contrary to his own position paper on legal immigration.

Immigration moderation. Before any new green cards are issued to foreign workers abroad, there will be a pause where employers will have to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed immigrant and native workers. This will help reverse women's plummeting workplace participation rate, grow wages, and allow record immigration levels to subside to more moderate historical averages.

Historical levels are around 200,000 a year compared to the 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants we take in annually. This does not count the 670,000 guest workers who enter each year or the 70,000 refugees annually.

"Trump will bring it up anyway. Count on it."

Yep, and Dirty Trade.

He will pin it around the necks of every person on that stage. He WILL make them choose, publicly and clearly.

It's their greatest fear.

I hope so, because 1,800,000 new LEGAL immigrants in 2013 is way too many at this stage in our country.

MAJORITY of legal immigrants are not accepted on basis of skills or wealth. Rather they get approved as close relatives of another immigrant. Majority are low-skilled, low-wealth, and are a burden on taxpayers.

The world seems to feel that it has the right to force legal immigration on the USA and we have complied with that request for decades. It seems that the US cannot refuse to stop the floodgate of immigrants. The US is thought to serve as a dumping ground of humans for all nations.
