Back when the Jeb Bush campaign for the Republican presidential nomination was still unofficial, the political press was busy churning out stories about how the former Florida governor was sewing up all the top talent in fundraising, strategy and policy. Bush, it seemed, was not only loading his team with top operatives, but like the Yankees in the George Steinbrenner years he was locking up extra talent just so nobody else could have it.
In the rush, though, Bush apparently forgot to fill one vitally important position: Special Advisor for Saving Jeb Bush from Himself.
The Bush campaign has, inexplicably, allowed its candidate to get involved in a public slap fight with real estate mogul and former reality television star Donald Trump, who also happens to be leading the Republican field with something on the order of five times more support than Bush....
Bush has been symbolically cutting back on campaign spending in recent weeks, but he presumably still has a lot of political advisors on staff he's paying a lot of money.
One of them might want to pass on a bit of Internet-age wisdom to the candidate: Don't feed the trolls.

Bush’s big lead and candidacy was wholly fabricated by the media. It was a very thin bubble gum bubble that was easy to pop.
Yeb! is the reason Yeb! is failing.
Trump may have pushed him a little, but Yeb! is the problem.
And Trump made it look so easy.
That’s how things look when someone is an expert.
I can hardly wait for him to zero in on Hillary! for real.

That's why “Jeb” does not sale. He plays the Establishment, “I'm a victim” line. Oh poor little Jeb.
This rubbish is one of many reasons why Jeb is being abandoned in droves.

Trump is winning and Jeb is failing because of their policies.

To people like the Fiscal Times, Trump is a “bully” for calling out stupid statements, but outlaw Obama and his $4 trillion most illegal and unconstitutional steamrolling, freedom-killing government machine are not bullies at all.

The article is okay, but really whiffed on why the Yeb! campaign responded.
Yeb has a lot of consultants and they all sat around and discussed whether or not they should respond to Trump’s attacks.
In the end, the Yeb campaign decided they had no choice but to respond. Couldn’t ignore or avoid. Trump’s campaign hit Yeb in a very tender spot and, there was no way to defend against Trump.
Trump made the very true statement that Jeb could not claim GW kept us safe, because 9/11 happened on GW’s watch.
Fair or unfair, that’s the truth.
When you look at Jeb’s response, Jeb tried to deflect, but Trump would not be distracted.
And Jeb?
Jeb didn't stay with the times. Jeb's isolated in the year 2007 - surrounded by Country Clubs, Elites, and neighborhoods lacking crime. Bush became clueless ...

I don’t think it would help .. and it could actually make it worse. If it loosens his tongue .. he could say some very embarrassing things.
