No surprise here: Donald Trump was the first to react to news Friday that Ben Carson was never offered admission at West Point, despite his past claims that he was offered a scholarship to the military academy.
"WOW, one of the many lies by Ben Carson! Big story," Trump tweeted, the latest in a string of attacks on Carson by the business mogul.

Now Trump believes CNN and Politico? Trump is my favorite but his response seems poor on this one.
Why?
Carson’s own campaign has admitted that the statements in his book were false.
Simply pointing out that this comes from Politico isn’t going to change that. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Trump may be premature here and I must admit I was pretty quick to fall for this story. I tend agree with Rush this is a lynch job and the story is not what it is being presented as being. That said, Im still leaning Trump.
Trump should not repeat the lies of the MSM.
As far as my understanding of this goes at this time, it is not clear that Carson’s campaign actually admitted what Politico says they admitted.
Maybe they did, but it is also possible that Politico used misleading wording in making that assertion of admission.
I want to wait for further clarification on this. Politico is disreputable.
Donald should hold his fire on this.
Trump should probably try defending Carson if this is truly a media lie. It’ll endear him to Carson supports, he can’t alienate all of them and shouldn’t because they can be Trump supporters

I wont know for sure how so until I hear Carson’s response and how it compares with his previous words are they are actually written and spoken. Need more info...
Trump, the liberal, probably doesn’t care if the Politico story is true. He’s happy to join in with the liberal media in attacking his opponents.
