But, yes. In Animal Husbandry, the REASON for removing the gonads of male cows IS to fatten them up for food production.
If a male calf is born and he’s not going to be used to impregnate the females in the future, he’s hamburger. We raise a Steer every year. He doesn’t have his boy parts; they’re removed when he’s just months old. This makes them fatten up quicker and they’re MUCH more docile and easier to handle when they’re 1500 pounds and more!
The Rules of Nature always apply; famine, feast, fire, flood or gonads, LOL!
