Almost 200 American troops were killed by Iranian supplied armor penetrating weapons during the Iraq war, according to declassified Pentagon data reportedly made public for the first time on Wednesday.
âAccording to the [U.S.] Central Command, at least 196 U.S. service members were killed in Iraq by Iranian-made explosive-formed penetrators (EFPs) from 2003 to 2011,â Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said during a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing, citing the declassified portion of a report provided to his office. Cruz said that number was being made public for the first time.
EFPs are a particularly effective type of improvised explosive device â a shaped charge capable of penetrating most armor that was used by coalition forces in Iraq.
Cruz noted further that U.S. Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford had recently testified that some 500 U.S. troops in total had been killed in Iraq âby Iranian activities.â He pointed out that that accounted for at least 14 percent of U.S. combat fatalities in Iraq.

Cruz was chairing a subcommittee hearing entitled âHow the federal government fails the American victims of Palestinian and Iranian terrorism,â focusing on how the executive branch has intervened in court cases to prevent the payout of compensation to the U.S. victims of terrorism and their families.
âDespite the slaughter and maiming of an untold number of America citizens at the hands of Palestinian and Iranian terrorists,â he said, âthe United States government has rather shockingly failed time and time again to fulfill its sovereign duty to obtain justice for its citizens.â
Iran owes billions of dollars in court-awarded damages to the U.S. victims of attacks including those cited by Cruz.

This isnt Barry’s issue is it...if it occured during the Iraq war. That would be the RINO Bush. He knew all about Irans involvment and did NOTHING.
And Obama has plans to protect the Iranians from an attack by Israel.
Another reason invading Iraq was George Bush’s terrible mistake. We ousted a government that was the No. 1 enemy of Iran. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
We should have stomped Iran's @$$ back in 1979. If we didn't have President "P*ssy, we would have. Iran has just become a worse and worse problem ever since, and now the stupidest f***ing "Precedent" in History is going to insure that millions of people die because he happened to be the color that gave the Media Orgasms.
“And Obama has plans to protect the Iranians from an attack by Israel.”
And George Bush took out Iran’s No. 1 enemy - Saddam Hussein.
“This isnt Barryâs issue is it”
Let’s always blame Obama. Never mind that George Bush turned Iraq from an enemy or Iran into a friend of Iran. Saddam was the No. 1 check on Iran, and on jihadis in Iraq. And George Bush took him out. Chaos followed, and Iran grew strong.
But let’s ignore that and blame everything on Obama! After all, Bush can do no wrong!
“Sen. Cruz Shines Light on Obama Administrationâs Failure to Stand With Victims of Terrorism”
Trump is the only candidate with the guts to be politically incorrect (for a Republican) and call Bush’s Iraq invasion a STUPID IDEA and a DISASTER in its outcome. Cruz doesn’t have the guts or the vision to speak that truth.
Bush and Obama have destabilized the entire Mid East and north Africa.
It had a lot more to do with Hussain’s anthrax in our postal system than anything else I suspect.
