“Cruz’s incisive mind was on full display here, as he methodically reproduced, without notes, the vacuous questions that had been asked to each candidate.
It is mystifying how Cruz being able to run down a very short mental list is pronounced as proof that he has an incisive mind. He may indeed have an incisive mind, but reciting that short list does not establish it.
Two questions:
1. Could you have done it?
2. Is there anyone else on that stage that night who could have?
I don't know the answer to question 1 but the answer to question 2 is NO. And if I had to answer Question 1 it would also be NO.
Cruz has an auditory eidetic memory.
If Mitt Romney had that ability against Obama and Candy Crowley he would have won the election.
Instead he crawled up into a corner and lost... mostly because he had nothing to say.
INCISIVE
(adjective)
1. penetrating; cutting; biting; trenchant:
an incisive tone of voice.
2. remarkably clear and direct; sharp; keen; acute:
an incisive method of summarizing the issue.
3. adapted for cutting or piercing.
The point is not that he recited verbatim a list of their questions. The point is that he cut to the heart of those questions and exposed how ridiculous and petty they were ... in a remarkably clear and direct way.
