Happened before the show opened, during set-up.

No excuse. He knew the gun was going to the gun show and did not inspect it before he left his house or business.

All guns in my house are loaded at all times and ready to fire so I don’t have to assume that they are loaded....I KNOW. Signs are placed at all places of entry stating so and where each gun is stored or placed warning of the fact.

Most gun owners who keep their weapons unloaded don’t realize that when you wake up at night, or when someone kicks your door in, you will not have time to load and fire your weapon...mainly because the clip, shells or storage place will be remote from where the weapon actually is kept....such as under your mattress, in the drawer by the bed or elsewhere....worse yet, somewhere in the dark.

All that you can do is throw the empty gun at your attacker and try to run. It takes me 1 second to have the gun in my hand and to pull the trigger if necessary.

When a gun is KNOWN to be loaded you don’t assume that it is unloaded. On the other hand, you ASSUME that it is unloaded bad things happen.

No! I don’t have any children the house....I knew what you were thinking.

I knew what you were thinking.

No, apparently you didn't.

I made a statement, not an excuse. It was explanatory containing additional information than what was in the excerpt.
