Two Senior VA Officials Plead The Fifth Amendment At Hearing

Two senior officials from the Department of Veterans Affairs have pleaded the Fifth Amendment in front of a House Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearing on relocation bonus corruption.

Philadelphia and Wilmington VA regional offices director Diana Rubens and St. Paul VA regional office director Kimberly Graves pleaded the Fifth and refused to answer any of the numerous questions put forward by HVAC chairman GOP Rep. Jeff Miller.

“Sir, I’ve been advised by counsel not to answer that question to protect my rights under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution,” Rubens repeated multiple times.

The five employees from the VA involved in the incident appeared Monday evening before HVAC under subpoena. The subpoena to appear — the first ever issued in the committee’s history — was deemed necessary because the VA did not allow the witnesses to show up to the first hearing on the subject.

Rubens and Graves received more than $400,000 taxpayer dollars for relocation expenses.

This isn't bureaucratic incompetence, this is government corruption at the expense of our Veterans.

5th Amendment my ass, these two need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to show others what will be in store for them.

I was telling my wife this morning, that people are going to get fed up and all it will take is one incident.

Life is still very good here in the States and for that I am very thankful. But not for long if this continues.

I can’t help but notice that most of the corrupt minions in this administration are females.

If you are a government employee and plead the fifth about something you did at work you should be fired and lose your pension.

There is no way to prosecute them since the entire Administration is under the communists control of King Obama. This should be revisited if we manage to get a Republican President and the President cleans out the judicial system

Bingo. The upper tier of our dictatorship puts females in to do the dirty work because they know they can trash the Republican Congress Critters as 'sexist' if they dare pursue legal action against them..

Note Jeh, Loretta, Barack.. That OTHER protected class immune from criminal prosecution.

I think that every VBA employee’s paycheck should have to be reviewed and approved by five Veterans.

If the Veteran takes seven years to do so, well, turnabout is fair play.

And if the Veteran dies before the paycheck is approved, well, should have made sure the Veteran lived.

Here’s the VA Executive Motto.....

If you are a Gov’t employee you should have to forfeit your 5th Amendment rights with respect to anything related to your employment as a condition of accepting the job. Then, when subpoenaed by congress or the courts you will be hooked up to a lie detector. If you lie, or are guilty of crimes you forfeit all benefits, pensions, etc. Applies to contractors, too.

Government is corrupt to the core. America is broken and needs to be fixed starting with the disciples of deceit from the land of liars in DC.

Good evening, Army Bro, and thanks for the ping, JJ!

The corruption, incompetence and bureaucratic inertia that is the VA has probably killed more American Fighting Men and Women than the enemy has.

"I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces guarding our country and our way of life.
I am prepared to give my life in their defense."
