WASHINGTON (AP) The White House on Monday accused new House Speaker Paul Ryan of "pandering to the extreme right wing" of his party on immigration.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Ryan's recent comments on an immigration overhaul are "preposterous" and disappointing.
The Wisconsin Republican said Sunday that he's ruled out passing comprehensive immigration legislation while President Barack Obama is in office. He said Obama cannot be trusted on the issue because he went around Congress to take executive actions shielding from deportation millions of people living in the country illegally.
Earnest called the remark "ironic." He said it's Ryan who supported an immigration deal, then failed to push for it to come up for a vote in the House.
Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign also jumped on Ryan's remarks.
The comments show "the extreme wing of the Republican caucus still controls the agenda in the House," Lorella Praeli, the campaign's Latino outreach director, said in a statement noting Clinton's support for Obama's executive actions. "It is clear the stakes in next year's elections could not be higher."

Actually, it was rather clever of him. Stating the fact that we won’t deal with immigration until next president because “Obama is untrustworthy on that issue”.
Notice the slight finesse when he say’s ‘that issue’. But we all know he really means without bounds.
When will ANY republican publicly call Obama’s administration left wing?

Josh Earnest is a fool. Anyone who defends or supports Obama is a fool. Obama was created by persons trained by the KGB.

Josh “Not” Earnest’s comment is apples and oranges seeking to fool the Low Information voters. Yes, maybe Ryan was involved in a prior attempt at some type of immigration reform. Since then Ryan has received the message loud and clear that most Americans did not want to go down that road. Why? Because it is time to slow down the train and let our citizens be heard and also because Obama can NOT be trusted on that issue. It could not be more clear and “Not” Earnest is a snark for trying to confuse people about Ryan.

Ryan only said there would be no bill before 2017. Afterward, all bets are off. Afterward may just be Jan 1.
What Ryan said is quite encouraging if he sticks with it.

Josh Earnest and Ryan probably had a good laugh about this. Anybody really believe Ryan and the GOPe aren’t working hand in hand with the Democrats and Obama?
