While Trump and other GOP presidential candidates push for a giant wall between the United States and Mexico, San Diego is literally building a bridge. In December, an international group of developers, which includes real estate magnate Sam Zell, plans to open a pedestrian walkway that bypasses the regular U.S. border crossings and directly connects San Diego to Tijuanas international airport.
Meanwhile, all five members of San Diegos congressional delegation, including stalwart Republican Reps. Darrell Issa and Duncan Hunter, have successfully advocated for the $500 million in additional funds needed to expand the main border crossing. And the citys new mayor, Kevin Faulconer (R), traveled to Tijuana during his first week in office in 2014 and has called for comprehensive immigration reform.

Isn’t it interesting that the opponents of the wall are asking where the money will come from to build the wall but have no problem coming up with the money for the bridge.
This is legal crossings, right?
Well heck no. Like kelly osbourne said, who’s gonna change our sheets if we keep trespassers out? Uh, I mean domestic caretakers. Yeah, that’s it.
Time to give California back to Mexico.
Remember when Duncan Hunter, Jr. was reliably conservative?
I know, it is hard to remember that far back.
What’s the deal with Hunter?
IIRC San Diego already has effective fencing running a few miles inland. I remember reading that it decreased their illegal alien problem by over 90%.
FreeRepublic is in California, and most of FR supporters are Californians.
The wall will be a Federal Property and in this case federal eminent domain will apply.
San Diego has no say in it.
The time to build the wall was before the Mexican invaders populated the border area.
THey don’t want a wall - they want their extended family to be able to walk here across the border as if it doesn’t exist.
By late 2013, one of the remaining phases had the support of President Obama and the Senate, but not the GOP-controlled House. San Diego’s House Democrats turned to their Republican counterpart, Issa, for help.
“Darrell was the guy who took the message to the Republican side,” said Rep. Scott Peters, a Democratic member of the San Diego delegation.
take about 85% of anything WaPo prints, reverse it and you’ll be closer to the truth
“plans to open a pedestrian walkway that bypasses the regular U.S. border crossings and directly connects San Diego to Tijuanaâs international airport.”
And no one in DC is even remotely concerned about a bunch of local rubes just doing this?
There is no inconsistency in enhancing our facilities for legal border crossings and simultaneously enhancing our efforts to stop illegal border crossings.
The Compost, typically, chooses not to get it. There is a difference between entering invited through the front door, and slithering uninvited through a casement window.
I find it interesting that there is an “international group of developers” building this bridge.
This has Soro’s fingerprints on it
You can be absolutely certain that the Compost is not telling the whole truth about this âbridgeâ.
Note that the Compost admits that the bridge ‘bypasses the regular U.S. border crossingsâ but says nothing about the special crossing point that will be established. Typical propaganda outlet.
Indentured servants. I just came across an incredible vid on YT called “Investigating White Slavery”. I can’t post direct links from my tablet, unfortunately, but it is so interesting. It, basically, describes what is happening, today, with the migrant crisis. Zuckerboob, and the like, WANT this.
I’ve always said that if an effective wall is ever built, there are business interests who will find a way to fly these workers into the country. The Chamber of Commerce is running this show (on the Republican side). Forget about everyone else who wants them are and just consider the agricultural concerns, the hospitality industry and the health care industry. These are huge parts of the economy with much at stake.
