I try to be careful about polls. Here's something that raised at least a pink flag if not a red one for me.
Rasmussen Reports' latest national telephone survey finds that 31% of Likely Republican Voters think Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee in 2016. Dr. Ben Carson is a distant second at 20%.
Asking people who they think the nominee will be, is not the same as who they intend to vote for.
I could be resigned to Mrs. Bill Clinton winning the Democrat nomination. It wouldn't mean I was going for her.
Is this poll inaccurate, due to the framing of the question? Possibly.

Is this poll inaccurate, due to the framing of the question? Possibly. I believe it's likely close to their preference to who they want to win within a few points of those polled.

There are probably more ways to “rig” a poll, than there are ways for a bartender to steal from the owner : )

Is this poll inaccurate, due to the framing of the question? Possibly. No, this poll is inaccurate because it didn't say what I wanted it to say.

Lets review D1. We see today that the Morning Consult poll Trump 31% Carson 21% closely mirrors Rasmussen.
And so does the Roooters IPSOS poll Trump 31% Carson 18%.
