Yep, in my little county (population 17,000) the hands down best paid employees “work” for the county and public schools.
Same here. Check out the parking lots around the court house, city hall, and schools, and compare to the parking lots around businesses.
See where the newer, fancier cars are parked.
That’s small town everywhere......it’s just another type of welfare. Around where I live now, part time firefighters for Indian Beach NC make about 80K a year in salaries and benefits, while the median for that county is like 26K. And most of them hold jobs on the side - and Indian Beach averages two structure fires a year!!!!
