Perhaps I was assuming that Tancredo is similar to myself. I don't identify myself as a Republican, yet I register as one to vote in the primaries.
I'm an idependent conservative who registers as a Republican to vote in the primaries.
Maybe that's not what he does.
And Colorado is definitely a closed primary state.

I finally realized:
1. No one I ever voted for in a primary ever won.
2. It’s so front-loaded that by the time it gets to my state, it is already decided.
3. As Twain said, paraphrasing...if voting in a primary counted for anything, they wouldn’t let us do it.
4. As RINOmney said, In some ways we kind of had to steal the Republican nomination.”
Ergo, I don’t worry about being independent anymore.
