I am dating myself but I was a grade schooler when the Leonard Nimoy hosted In Search Of...TV show was airing - and I loved it and I remembered this episode about the fear of that era of a global ice age coming.
I can't help but feel that when no ice age came these very same quacks on climate just switched the model and declared that we should fear a global warming instead so as not to lose govt grant money having gotten a boat load of govt money when they were investigating global cooling it would be hard to go and work into the private sector. As the Ghostbuster's movie stated: "I've worked in the private sector... they expect results!"
Cool. I remember this show too.
I wonder if they also have the Bigfoot episode?

And the “scientists” were convinced that the coming Ice Age was going to be caused by....pollution! Of course it was. Naturally occurring climate cycles had nothing to do with it.

I loved that show. It use to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid.
I thought for sure I would have died a horrific death already by killer bees by now.
Me too, then I later learned he was a Vulcan.
LOL! The killer bees! That scared the heck out of me as a kid even though I lived north enough and there was a global ice age coming. By the way there was a movie that came out in the late 70s called Swarm about killer bees attacking whole towns. Nostalgia right on time for Halloween!
Based on this research, we can predict with confidence that another ice age is coming....

In the video, I believe they said something happened 89,000 years ago when the last ice age started. Now they’re having to go back 200,000 years to suggest that global warming is occurring.
And apparently, they can predict the weather 4,000 years into the future! Simply amazing, isn’t it? I wonder how they got to be so smart? And how could the climate change so much before mankind could have possibly had any impact at all on the environment?
I remember 1977 as being a really wonderful time in my life.
Of course I was a kid. It absolutely sucked for anyone with real responsibilities.
The first time I ever saw Sinbad the comedian he was on the old “Star Search” TV show hosted by Ed McMahon. He competed against a guy whose last name was Beasly and used the stage name of “Killer Beas”.
Amazing? Absolutely.
Especially when we consider they cannot currently predict storm paths, rainfall or snowfall with accuracy a few days ahead of time.

It was a far more innocent an simpler time wasn’t it? For instance if you wanted a pot pie it came out of a conventional oven after what seemed like an eternity at a million degrees! Also, LP and 8 track were king! lol
