Yup and Palin almost scuttled the plan. At which point the GOP sent out Schultz and Wallace to tank her and thus McCain’s campaign.

Both were Romney people BTW. And they had a lot of help on FR.

Even if either McQueeg or Willard had won by accident, we should be grateful we dodged that bullet. The Republican Party could caucus in a phone booth with the number of elected officials those two Socialists would’ve left us with in Congress, Governorships, et al.

Same goes when Colin Powell passed on running this time 20 years ago. He might’ve beaten Clinton in 1996, and swiftly enacted his leftist agenda and destroyed the GOP in time for President Al Gore’s landslide victory in 2000.

What amazes me is that we just lived through...LIVED through the clear result of electing leftist Republicans and there are STILL people here wanting more.

Only one of two possibilities. They either they are really the operatives I have long said they are or they are dumber than a DU Democrat. No one with any logical thought process in a functioning brain could possibly see their direct efforts INCREASINGLY result in a liberal dominated GOP every election, as we have and their voting record proves, and say “If we just keep doing that, we’ll get conservatives eventually”.

Then again it will result in conservatives -eventually- I suppose. Once the catastrophic collapse they create sorts itself out.

It’s an awful realization that both parties are left wing. One is honest about it (sorta) and the other pretends not to be. I’ll give the Democrats credit for one thing: They don’t ignore their ultraleftist moonbat base. They keep delivering for them time and again (and if by chance the GOP is in power, they still find a way to keep things moving left).

Meanwhile, the gulf between the GOP Establishment and their elected officials vs. the voting base is enormous. They promise to move to the right, but yet they keep moving left: on social issues, on big government, on spending. No cuts, no cutbacks, no nothing. The GOP got back control of the House in 2010, the Senate in 2014, and what have we got ? We have gay marriage (the destruction of marriage as a bedrock institution), we still have ZeroCare, we’re nearing $20 trillion in debt (with perhaps ten times that figure in unfunded liabilities) and an ever increasing army of bureaucrats, ever increasing number of welfare recipients, unsecure borders and general lawlessness, cultural rot and racial strife on an epic level (throw in that the “values system” of a substantial part of the population is polar opposite the other).

This party replaces one collaborationist, pro-big gubmint House Speaker and walking lush for another collaborationist, pro-big gubmint House Speaker with a ginormous sense of entitlement.

And to think we get browbeaten by the single-digit IQ R-bots that we gotta vote GOP or things might get worse under the Democrats. What exactly is their definition of “worse” ? The GOP needs to be cleansed entirely from top to bottom. And when that’s done, real action, real pushback. A revolution. Because we’re already past treason with these people. Sadly, I won’t hold my breath for it all to happen.

“The GOP got back control of the House in 2010, the Senate in 2014, and what have we got ? “

Please see my tagline
“We have gay marriage (the destruction of marriage as a bedrock institution), we still have ZeroCare, we’re nearing $20 trillion in debt (with perhaps ten times that figure in unfunded liabilities) and an ever increasing army of bureaucrats, ever increasing number of welfare recipients, unsecure borders and general lawlessness, cultural rot and racial strife on an epic level (throw in that the “values system” of a substantial part of the population is polar opposite the other).”

You can add that Islamic terrism is growing with Obama steering it everywhere it is. Also we relinquished 100% of our global credibility.

We have

Democrat Party

Republican Democratic Party

The goal is GLOBAL SOCIALISM.

I wonder if it is Rush’s intention to make people like me realize I’ve been wasting my time voting.

Even if either McQueeg or Willard had won by accident, we should be grateful we dodged that bullet.

Amen. With McCain, at least there was a decent chance he'd be carried out in a straight-jacket and Palin would step in, but Romney ... voting for him was as nuts as, actually nuttier than, voting for Obama.

Like Black Elk, I voted for Eternal Vigilance knowing darned well he'd not win, but 1) if he had won, I'd be happy to own what I voted for and 2) I was really voting for a plurality, to put whichever central-planning big government amoral leftist statist socialist won, Obama or Romney, in the weakest position possible.

When 57% of Americans voted "against" Clinton the first time he was elected and 51% voted "against" him the second time, he was elected by a plurality and he was weak because of it. The MSM has perpetuated the myth that he was "popular," but in truth, the majority of Americans rejected him at the ballot box both times he was elected.

If they had stayed home instead of voted for Perot, someone, either Dole/Bush or Clinton, would have won with a majority mandate and the Republican Revolution would probably never have happened. The plurality helped conservatives because it put Clinton on defense.

THANK GOD Romney lost in 2012. Like you say, FMDJ, we dodged a bullet; God smiled on America -- we can and will fight and defeat Obama and what he represents; had "we" elected the morally depraved socialist-leaning likes of Romney, we would not only have had to answer to ourselves when he obliterated any chances of conservatives to advance in the Republican party, more important, we would have had to answer to GOD for empowering that which we knew at the time went against God.

Again -- every single person here who voted for Romney should thank their lucky stars the bastard lost.

And for what it's worth, poor ol' Hot Tabasco has subscribed to the New Math/Common Core idea of "voting against" for many years now. I used to believe in voting "against" as well -- but I wised up finally. Maybe HT will too, given enough time.

Thanks for the ping FRiend. You're nailing it as always.

The goal is GLOBAL SOCIALISM.

Funny, I seem to recall that was Hitler's goal too, 'National Socialism' on a GLOBAL scale.

Senator Joe McCarthy tried to warn us about THE ENEMY WITHIN and while he was specifically speaking of the Communist conspiracy that had infiltrated and corrupted our government, his words of warning were applicable to ALL sorts of subversion, and both wings of the UniParty(c) are guilty of betraying We The People of the United States.

Thomas Jefferson's words are going to be manifested, and I believe that as surely as the sun will rise in the morning:

"The Tree of Liberty must periodically be watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants"

I've got my watering can ready to go.

Same goal, different application......until the time comes that it is no longer different!

It may be noteworthy that in 2008, the average gun owner in America owned 4 guns. Today it is 8 guns : )

The goal of the top 1/10th of 1% of wealth in the world want GLOBAL SOCIALISM. You can’t make as much money off of a solid middle class as you can off a totally dependent working class. Romney is part of this. He would have accelerated the goal. Look at this years Forbes 400. Most of the great wealth is controlled by the left. This is new to us in America. 2 dozen of them have financially backed Hillary for POTUS.Probably triple that number have just failed to openly admit it. These are by far the wealthiest of the wealthy. Buffett on down the line. Since Obama took office, the rich have gotten richer than any other time in American history.

I studied the current Forbes 400, and I could only fine 2 confirmed conservatives out of the 400. Forget Koch bro’s. They are the enemy.

The two good guys are Phillip Anshutz, and Mike Savage’s son.

2 out of 400, folks. The other 398 are doctrinaire leftists, or open borders, globalist scum who have, over time literally purchased the Republican Party.

There were two candidates

The Democrat was Barack Obama
The Republican was Mitt Romney

Any others were merely pretenders. you apparently pretended to vote and were politically irrelevant..... however, you self esteem was and still is intact
