Look, right on there, it says "fat free".
God Bless your Dad, I still think they are nasty.
I once just smelled the licorice flavor...and that's all it took.
All in jest about the liberal thing.
But I do know that older folks (I'm over 65, okay?) do tend to like the flavors of some candies that have been around from their childhoods.
I always figured it had something to do with the lack of artificial flavorings that are so prevalent today.
I love Mary Janes, but my youngest thinks they taste like peanut butter out of a jar that has been left open for a couple of weeks.
To each his own.

PopCorn Balls. In our neighborhood we had three older ladies that handed those out every year. I think they saved their leftover popcorn over the year and reused it.

I’m not a fan either, and I’m over 65 as well. But I will never see a Necco without thinking of my Dad. Any occasion that required a “present”....Neccos, especially in his later years! He passed at 90 and I found several rolls in his stuff. Hoarding, I guess.

My Dad loved Almond Joys...and after he died, while cleaning out the house, I found a handful in a drawer of his work bench.
