Top Carson aide gave thousands to Democrats
POLITICO ^ | 10/16/15 | KATIE GLUECK

Ben Carson likes to tell audiences that he used to be a Democrat, and that his views have changed dramatically over time. His communications director, however, is a more complicated story.

Doug Watts has given more than $5,000 to Democratic candidates at the state and federal level over the past decade -- but not a penny to national Republicans, according to public records from the Federal Election Commission and the California Secretary of State. Watts even contributed $1,000 to Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer in her 2010 victory over Carly Fiorina.

Carson, for his part, says he grew up a Democrat and supported George McGovern and twice voted for Jimmy Carter before becoming a Republican during the Reagan era, disillusioned by what he considered to be excessive welfare programs, and by the Democrats that supported those policies. He left the GOP, however, after seeing “hypocrisy in both parties” during the Clinton impeachment proceedings, and only officially rejoined, after being an independent, last year.

Carson is pacifism, affirmative action, gun control, gangsta, and #whiteydontmatter.

No thank you! I thought we learned our lesson with the first AA prez.

.

Of course, the three (3) $ 10,000 questions are:

(1) did Carson bother to "vet" his key campaign staffers ...

(2) did it even occur to Carson to "vet" ...

(3) will Carson ask the "democrat" staffer to resign (and go to work for Al Sharpton) ?

.

My mother always told me, “You are known by the company you keep.” Wise advise, when selecting the POTUS.

Like I said, once he got in the frontrunner position in IA, the attacks were going to come hot and heavy. Trump has pretty much weathered everything they can throw at him.

I can't believe the Farrakhan thing hasn't had more impact so far.

Cruz was and is my first pick. But the h1b, TPP and Corker debacle with Iran kind of threw me off a little.

Dont know what to make of it. I understand his position on TPP and Corker, but 500 percent h1bs increase? sounds like a lot

[Of course, the three (3) $ 10,000 questions are]

The $1,000,000 question is: Why isn’t anyone in the other campaigns vetting BEN CARSON?

CARSON’S disturbing positions on abortion, the Abortion Pill, death panels quietly change with the polls with no explanation.

That’s a pittance to what’s going to come into our country with BEN CARSON. How many H1Bs will come into America after DONALD TRUMP builds the wall?

good point. Like I said, Cruz is my choice, but I’d pull the lever in the general for Trump.

Carson’s insane. Didn’t know about his youthful indiscretions. Glad he overcame them, but doesn’t sound so stable.

Ben Carson doesn't have a vagina (and thus 100-percent immune from criticism in this politically-correct world),

but Ben Carson is black ... and some folks are still obsessed with "white guilt" (that's a fact, by the way) ...

I'm so encouraged by great leaders like Allen West who want all candidates to be fully vetted, regardless or race, creed, or religion ...

and it's too bad that Allen West isn't running for president.

I guess Dr. Carson is “evolving” like Obama - or maybe his views are only now getting out.
I don’t understand why conservatives can’t see that the most hated man by liberals and GOPe is not Trump or Dr. Carson but Ted Cruz. That should tell everyone something.
