The F-35?
But they’re almost ready.
Just like they have been for what now, almost a decade?

And why not? We are borrowing their helos to have enough working ones for maneuvers in europe.
Both pitiful conditions aren’t they?

He doesn’t know his port from his starboard.
To: Chode
Admittedly, they don’t have a huge amount of experienced carrier senior officers to draw from.

Sounds like this guy is the CAG, so better that he knows more about planes than ships...though it doesn’t sound like he knows much about shipboard flight ops.
That’s what happens when you cut back so far you lose experience as well as hardware.

If they choose the guy to oversee carriers who has shipboard experience, he won’t have any aviation experience.
I guess he won’t be CAG...sounds like more than that.

Don't give it a thought. Any problems can be fixed by going back in time. From the article, the UK is into time travel.
The systems of HMS Queen Elizabeth, the first of the two carriers, are now being tested and in 2016 the ship will be handed over to the Royal Navy for Sea trials. It is expected to come into service in 2012.

The F-35 Edsel?
Nope, I’ve said all along, you’re never going to see full production of that “thing”. They’ve wasted time and money on stealth, which the other side has pretty well figured out.

Yup. And that is why it is called an arms race. Point and counter point. One obsolete defeated technology after another.
Change is the only constant.

i was just thinking that a CAG without ship flight-ops, they might be better off with someone who knows how to command at sea and trust the squadron commanders to work out the flight-ops rather than a guy that might make Capt. Peter Wrong Way Peachfuzz look like Adm. Nelson

The Royal Flying Corp has been envious of the Royal Naval Air Service and tried to take it over forever.
Actually succeeded in the 20's. Didn't work well

Yeah. This sounds like a land-based billet, though...not a seagoing one.
