I hate to do this, but I think you’re wrong.

In the same way Reagan didn’t hand down an easier to deal with press, Trump won’t either.

That’s the sad thing here.

Folks think this is easy. It isn’t. It takes a special personality to pull it off. When Trump is gone, so is the gravitas he brings to the campaign season.

If Trump was gone, do you think Cruz would suddenly be able to become Trump, and keep the press under control?

I doubt you do.

So what we’re looking at here, and I keep trying to drive this home, is a once in a generation chance to clean house.

If Trump leaves for any reason, we’ve lost a once in 30 years chance.

Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, McCain, Romney...

That’s all we’ll get for several decades if we muff this chance.

You are so right. But, I do think, if Trump is successful and is elected, the MSM will never again be quite as powerful as they have been.

Bingo was his name-o!

Like Reagan, Trump has that talent to talk over MSM and reach the people.

Hopefully Trump's negotiating skills are as good as Reagan's were. I think they are.

Agree.....I hope Trump is successful for those very reasons.
As my neighbor puts it..Trump is a SOB but he is our SOB. He just be one of the best ever.

A lot of folks are hesitant about Trump and they cannot be blamed....look how many times we have been lied to and stabbed in the back...nuff said.

Then take a look at who the GOPe thinks we should bow down to...Jeb Bush!!!

I personally feel Trump can do some great things....he needs to start building allies now instead of hurling insults...except in the case of Bush LOL.

Spot on!!

No one else could/would have this same effect on the MSM or the campaign season methods. No one.

Trump IS our once in a generation (or two) chance.

It won’t be Bush. If Bush gets the nomination, Hillary will win. Bush’s ineptitude and complete lack of connection to the people is mindblowing.

But this idea that Cruz “can’t handle” the media is so off base. Trust me, Cruz is very cunning and he knows what he’s doing. He has been fighting the establishment/mainstream all his life. During college. As an attorney that went before the Supreme Court to argue on behalf of Texas to a bunch of liberals, RINOs and Thomas/Scalia. Then his campaign for senator in 2012. Now, you want to talk long shot? EVERYONE in the media and the Republican establishment told him it was a lost cause. The then-Lt. Gov. was “next in line”. He was the de facto Jeb Bush.

Cruz got up everyday and fought the media and the establishment. Little by little he traversed the state, picked up support here and there in pockets of people... a Republican Women’s Club, a Tea Party group, a Rotary Club, etc. That kind of grassroots reaching out is real. You connect with real people that go out and spread your message. And the rest his history. He defied the odds and beat the establishment.

I compare this man’s story with someone like Trump who just woke up a few months ago and decided he wanted to be a conservative. It just doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t believe he’s trustworthy. He’s gone along to get along for too long. He won’t fight for conservative principles or for the constitution. Socialized medicine? He doesn’t look at that like a bane to liberty, he says it’s great and he wants it to be “ the best socialized system!! The government is going to be YUGE! And Trump is going to take care of you!”

Sorry, Doughty, I don’t need or want Trump taking care of me. I’m a grown man. I appreciate the things he’s said about immigration, but that’s it. I have no interest in his big government, statist ideology.

Cruz 2016.
