Did they give an approximation of # of protesters? Both campuses have very large student populations. S
I would imagine you could gather a protest for any cause or non-cause on any college campus today and assemble 100-300 protesters (most of whom wouldn’t even know what they’re protesting). In this case, tho, it’s particularly upsetting as both Berkeley and Stanford are ‘elite’ colleges that theoretically attract the best students.
The professor’s comrades might not even be students; likely outside agitators, professional protestors.
