The Shutdown Prevention Act
October 24th 2015 | Representative Gwen Graham

Posted on 10/24/2015 3:27:38 PM PDT by Jacquerie

Families across North Florida are tired of Washington’s manufactured crises and shutdown threats, that's why I've introduced The Shutdown Prevention Act to take away power from the small minority causing Congressional chaos and put it back in the hands of the moderate majority of Democrats and Republicans who believe government should actually govern.

Government shutdowns hurt our military and most vulnerable families harder than anyone else. It’s easy for members to abandon their responsibilities and let the government shutdown. It’s harder to roll up their sleeves and negotiate a budget. I think we were elected to do the hard work, and the Shutdown Prevention Act will force Congress to do just that.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Government; US: Florida
KEYWORDS: constitution; statism
This arrived today via email. Graham (FL-2) is a slick democrat raised in the political family of former FL Governor Bob Graham. Her district is split between conservative rural areas, and the Left wing university town and state capital, Tallahassee.

She equates government with society. There are few more dangerous concepts. She also ignored the fact that her Boss, the Bamster, vetoed funding of the military.

Her message is aligned with dozens of other recent events and news columns that point toward the silencing of conservatives, meaning those who cherish the maxims of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

The screws tighten every day. No election alone can reverse our descent into tyranny.

That small minority represents millions of people.

Government shutdowns hurt our military...

Sorry Gwennie. Your boy, Obama, did that. How about a Veto Prevention Act. That would be more appropriate at this time. And stop using the military as a political campaign prop, idiot!

As far as I know, no one was ever in the end denied anything on account of a federal government shutdown. Payments may have been delayed, but all were paid. Shutdown doesn’t matter. It’s a distraction.

83% of the government was open during the last “shutdown,” which was engineered by Obama and Scary Reid.

What we need is a balanced budget amendment that gives the Attorney General AND the Attorney Generals of each state the power to file criminal charges against ANY member of Congress who votes to spend in deficit.

Our history show the result of sending good men and women to institutions corrupted from their constitutional purposes is corrupted men and women.

And how exactly do you pass a law forcing congress to always fund the president’s wish list budget?
Presumably this person has heard of the Constitution and how money is appropriated?

Lame.

The larger point is that congress is expected to be a rubber stamp, the enabler of whatever Hisself demands.

Those pesky tea partiers refuse to condone tyranny.
