AIPAC backed the Corker bill. So did most Republicans. Everything else was political theater. AIPAC played its part to get publicity, and then it's back to business as usual, fundraising for people who voted to let Iran go nuclear.
Steve Rosen, a former foreign policy director for Aipac, told me his former organization will be inclined to work with Democrats rather than turn them into enemies. "There is no question Aipac lay leaders will in the future be holding fundraisers for Democrats who voted for the Iran deal," he said, adding it was not practical for Aipac to boycott the 42 Democratic senators who supported the president's Iran deal.
"When you have guys like Coons with a long pro-Israel voting record, Aipac will continue to work with them," Rosen said.

AIPAC is just another lobbying group inside the beltway I guess but since we all know the Corker Bill was a fix to let the Iran deal happen and AIPAC is close to Netanyahu you have to wonder if Bibi’s noisemaking about the Iran deal was all kabuki.....
Their biggest fear is that if Iran becomes a dominant regional power, then people living Israel who have options to live elsewhere will pack up and leave.
That's all this issue was ever about ... and AIPAC's actions here pretty much confirm it.
The corker bill is an Unconstitutional abdication of congress’ treaty responsibilities, It should have been defeated 99 to 1. It is the worst pice of legislation in my lifetime - in terms of its probable consequences (enabling our most vitriolic enrmy to nuke America soon as they’ve repeatedly threatened to do). After six years of O, I’m used to USA being sabotaged from within or sold out by the Washington power elite — but the corker bill was the treason-boys’ single most “audacious” and dangerous bullet to the heart of our country.
