I don't know if California can be "saved," but my one enduring image of California -- which probably sums up the political/economic situation there perfectly -- comes from one of those stupid "BlackLivesMatter" protests a while back.

I remember a scene of chaos along I-5 in the San Diego area sometime after the Ferguson, MO incident, where a crowd of "BlackLivesMatter" demonstrators blocked the highway. A crowd of motorists who were stuck at a standstill had exited their vehicles and were yelling and throwing things at the demonstrators while the police on the scene maintained order and began arresting the demonstrators.

I'll never forget the clear, obvious distinction between the two groups of people. The demonstrators were comprised of a mixture of young black and white adults. The motorists whose lives were disrupted that day included mostly people commuting to jobs, dressed in uniforms of blue-collar workers, hospital uniforms, etc. They stood there yelling at the demonstrators and speaking with the TV reporters on the scene, telling their stories of how important it was for them to get to work. Almost every one of the motorists whose lives were disrupted on their way to work were Latinos and Filipinos.

And that, folks, is what California (and America at large) has become ... black malcontents and scruffy white snots blocking a highway in California over the demise of some overgrown mutant in Missouri, while the police show up to arrest them and clear the road so the immigrants from Asia and Latin America can go to work.

I got the hell out of there in 1979, and never looked back.

Haha!

Good catch. And you're not even a flycatcher!

Of course California can be saved. We have the tested and legal means to do so. Simply dust off Thaddeus Stevens’ 1867-68 Reconstruction Act.

It begins with the appointment of a military governor and stripping the state of its congressional delegates.

“Oh yeah, I was born in California, just left it in disgust with the way you and YOUR ilk were letting things go.”

We’re sorry that you ever set foot in this wonderful place, and we’re just glad you’re gone! Please, please don’t ever even visit, the air here is to precious to waste on someone of your “intellect.” From your comments about my being from Northern California, I assume that you grew up in that pustule that lies to the south of the mountains that separate it from the rest of the state. The place where all the problems with illegal migration occur and where the hedonists of the “film industry” perform fellatio on each other on a daily basis. As far as KMA is concerned, you don’t have anything to kiss wimp! I just hope you’re enjoying your double wide and your outdoor plumbing wherever it is that you now call home.

Saved? No.

Ravaged by those who claim to love it? Yes.
