It's one reason why on New Years Eve I'm
not going to do the Top 25 of 2015. After the screaming and catcalls I got for doing the Top 25 of 2014 -- jeez, that music was
dark -- I've learned my lesson.
There was only one song from 2014 that I respected. That was Hozier's "Take Me to Church." It had a fine tune, and the juxtaposition of 4/4 and 3/4 was intriguing. But it was about a homosexual relationship, and the video was a bit too explicit for me. And the idea of a gang burning one of the homos alive was a bit ridiculous.
I'll have to come up with something for New Years Eve that is both entertaining and tolerable.

It’s hard to find new songs that I can like or post. Those I did last night came as close as I can to what I feel is “real” music. Without being “explicit”. i can’t handle that. Or Rap. ack!!
Classic rock on New Year’s Eve would be a HUGE hit! :)

The #1 tune on every New Years Day since 1958. Easily researchable, but I have to figure out a cutoff date. Good idea.

Man I look forward to that one!
I’d say mid-70s. When the Vietnam war ended, the music sort of got muddy then and was undistiguishable one from another. But that’s just me.....

I could take it through much of the Eighties. I stopped listening in 1992.

I think that’s when I did, too, except for smooth jazz. :)
Some of the ‘80s stuff wasn’t bad. Mid/late-70s were just awful. LOL!
I think you have a new project to work on! :)

Thank you for all your time and effort dedicated to our troops.
I just read of the passing of a talented musician. I don’t see this mentioned here, at the most recent musical canteen, so I thought I should mention it.
Cory Wells, one of the co-founding lead singers for Three Dog Night, passed away this past week, from multiple myeloma.
Wikipedia lists two dates for his death. October 20 and October 21. (Gotta love their accuracy).
The Guardian posted a nice obituary. They say he died on the 20th.
http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/oct/25/cory-wells .
Cory Wells sang the lead on Mama Told Me Not To Come.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=rKaQzQAlNn4 .
If you see anyone posting a musical tribute, please give me a ping.
Have a blessed day.
