SDA and Mormon are different. Mormonism added its own scripture and a prophet. SDA did not. What they were was an end-time cult that thought they were using the bible.

Carson would be G.W. Bush all over again. Too much of a compassionate conservative. His ignorance on foreign and fiscal matters will make him easily swayed by advice from the powers-that-be in D.C.
Trump would be basically Bill Clinton after the demise of Hillary-care. He’ll govern by the polls and can go conservative if pushed in that direction. He’s not going to bother fighting for conservative issues that seem minor to him, like fighting for a specific Supreme Court justice.
Cruz would be the 3rd term of Reagan. A studied, principled conservative who will be extremely determined about implementing conservative ideas in all aspects of federal policy. He’s completely prepared to campaign against the left and against the media.

Is Carson a pacifist? Or, is that a SDA thing? I keep learning more about his beliefs, principles, and viewpoints that are just peachy for him as an individual to adhere to, but are certainly issues which should absolutely keep him from being president. His squishy views on the 2A are a perfect example. If he is indeed a pacifist, no way can he be allowed to be Commander in Chief. I agree fully with you: Pacifism and Commander in Chief are incompatible.
Carson has the skills to cut soft tissue with scalpel and knife. How does that qualify him to run the largest organization in the world ?
